Robby Gordon now seems to be looking at a new partnership elsewhere in the Sprint Cup garage. And the word-on-the-street is that Gordon may now be headed back to General Motors and Chevrolet in a still murky deal with Dale Earnhardt Inc. that would make him a teammate with DEI's #1-Martin Truex Jr. and the others at that company.

I guess DEI has to get a driver for next year no matter who it is. This sounds like trouble in the making.

September 22, 2008  08:07 AM ET

This is the move above all others that will put DEI at the number one spot in category of "SUPER TEAM" Robby Gordon, arguably the best driver in the history of NASCAR has been convinced to merge with DEI. That organization will have a powerhouse lineup of Menard, truex, Ragan Smith and now Gordon. This powerful lineup will strike fear in all the other teams next year as the realizeThat there is no longer 12 spots in the chase but only 8 as four are guaranteed for the DEI drivers who with such a superior organization behind them are certain to take the first four spots.Richard Childress is said to be the most nervous wondering what the future Holds for his organization.

I think Kyle's recent (lack of) performance has pushed Shave over the edge....

September 22, 2008  08:32 AM ET

Shave, W.T.F are you smoking?

September 22, 2008  08:33 AM ET

Shave=Total Breakdown!

September 22, 2008  08:39 AM ET

What? You guys don't like Teresa?
Time to pull out the razor and make a change.
This might Give Kyle Busch a change of luck.

September 22, 2008  08:51 AM ET

You might try "SAVE" the Busch! LOL

September 22, 2008  09:46 AM ET

Robby Gordon would be my pick for any team, LOL He certainly creates work for the sheet metal guys. I agree with shave the Busch, RCR is in trouble now, they won't get a sniff of the Chase next year if Robby makes the move. LOL
shave; I don't know what you are drinking but send me some. LOL

im going off topic since its obvious fannation are huge kyle busch fans (all negative jr articles, no kyle busch articles during times like these)

Looks like a bunch of you are going to be eating crow.. "kyle busch is a champion" this that and the other.. hows the view down in 12th kyle? you arent such hot stuff anymore are you buddy? hahahaha... i guess him and jr will be chillin with each other down at the bottom of the chase standings

September 22, 2008  09:58 AM ET

Turfman, I agree with you.
shave the bush, great sarcasm. Luv it.

Did these guys in Winston-Salem forget that Martin is going to Hendrick next year?

September 22, 2008  10:27 AM ET

Not a Busch fan....but there is something wrong with the Chase point system. Kyle dominated the season with 8 wins.....he should have been given a little bigger lead once the Chase starts. Perhaps they should throw out the lowest placement for each driver in the 10 race system as a mulligan? I am really having my doubts about this system. Biffle?

September 22, 2008  10:39 AM ET

its fair for everyone jackman, what else do you expect when you crash one race and blow up the next one, you will lose plenty of points.. it just so happens kyles bad luck is coming during the chase.. karma is a b isnt it?

September 22, 2008  10:57 AM ET

Guess so svt, not sure why I am feeling sorry for Kyle. The rules are the rules. The dominant drivers have been Kyle and Carl. I was looking forward to them two banging it out for 10 races. I can only hope the bad karma hits Johnson - yuck!

September 22, 2008  11:09 AM ET

Go Biffle - Its about time that everybody see's how good a driver he is. He will be the first to win in all 3 catagories. Go Greg Go.........

if none of the chevy boys can get it done, go biff!!

Next week we will see Robby Gordon merging with Penske

September 22, 2008  11:45 AM ET

Robby Gordon...single handedly keeping the sheet metal industry in business every race. Does anyone else think that Martin Truex Jr. made the worst decision in NASCAR history by staying with this sinking ship? I am all for loyalty, but he borders on insanity for re-signing with a team that would honestly consider giving Robby Gordon anything with 4 tires and a motor.

DEI dont do it. You can not trust Robby Gordon.
