Tigers ruling out trade for slugger?

Dave Dombrowski was huddled in his Washington, D.C., hotel room Wednesday, heating up his phone as the Tigers traded Wilfredo Ledezma to Atlanta and, quite possibly, discussed left-hander Mike Maroth. That pretty much eliminates any ideas -- Dombrowski was adamant Wednesday -- that the Tigers would have inquired about Cincinnati's Adam Dunn or the Rangers' Mark Teixeira.

Bring hurlers to detroit, we have our hitters! Kenny is back tomorow and hopefully Zoom zoom will be back in another month... Get us relievers that will keep the count low so our lead stays and we'll be taking it all to the series again!

Why mess with greatness, eat your heart our new york.Big money can not buy great teams.

Lose Rodney get a solid closer and better mid's! I like Jones but he put's a bunch on base and wins the hard way. Ledezma is gone, Grilli is up and down, Seay looks promising at times. The bat's are great - no need to change that. Tigers are 1st in RBI's, 2 baggers, Total Bases, and a few other cat's.

Uh, thunder ... Your last great team was 1984. The Marlins have won twice since you last won the Series. Heck, even the Twins (twice), the Angels and the historically inept Red Sox have won since your last heyday.

26 titles and counting....

Thunder,
We know that. Tell everyone else.

Tigers need a closer they can rely on! I like Jones too, just not as a closer. If they can't trade him, I think he would make a good situational pitcher...but he will get hit if you keep him in any longer.

Instead of seeking another bat, I think they should go for someone like Gagne. Right now I think any decent closer would jump at the chance to play in Detroit!

The Tigers need a closer they can rely on! I like Jones too, but it's scary everytime he comes in. If they can't trade him, I think he would make a good situational pitcher...if you keep him in more than that, he will get hit!

I think they should go after someone like Gagne. Any decent closer available is going to jump at the chance to play in Detroit.

Where are the Tigers in the Mark Buherle hunt? Another strong are would put them in good stead, vis putting away the Indians.

I know what you mean about Jones winning it the hard way. He always tries to make it exciting!
