I think the Georgia loss would not be so bad if
1). Tennessee would have beat UCLA
2). ULCA would not have lost to BYU by 59 points
3). The VOLS would not have been taken to the shed by Florida two years in a row(I think if they had played FLorida in a good game, loss would have been okay)
4). Too many years of unfulfilled expectations with a very talented team

I have several friends who are VOL fans and this is pretty much what I hear from them.

I agree with you 100 percent. I live in the south now and I saw a lot him his freshman year at Arkansas; the guy looked good as a passing QB.

I have been a LAKERS fan since I was kid; as a matter of fact we are three generations deep as LAKERS fans. Before Kareem, Before Magic, Before Kobe! And will be LAKERS fans long after that. So no bandwagon here! LAKERS, RAIDERS, USC TROJANS, A's and DODGERS good bad or otherwise. We do not jump on bandwagons.

How many starters did he loose from last year? I really have not followed Rutgers very closely (knowing team personnel), so I am curious; I've been too busy getting pissed at USC choking against OSU, Stanford & UCLA over the last 3 seasons.

That where we see redemption; I have been a RAIDERS fan for as long as I can remember. I have flown cros country to attend games (I live in Atlanta now) and we just don;t beleive in band wagon jumping, like a lot of other people. I like to see us in the same realm of dedicated fans like the Jets and Browns. We take a lumps like a man and keep our heads up, no matter how disgusted we are with the owner.

Let me state explicitly, that I DO NOT agree with the "minority player comment??? by C. Smith l Cowboys, I do feel the need to address your innuendo that racism is not prevalent in 2008.

But, if we (as a country) read more than the sports page we will see that a SEPTEMBER 2008 survey by Stanford University showed that "40 percent of all white Americans hold at least a partly negative view toward blacks, and that includes many Democrats and independents."

I think the bashing of DIrk comes more fomr him being soft at 7 feet and being the "go to Superstar" of the team. Odom fortunately doe not carry that mantle; most fans have already said that Odom is better at a third option and not a second option (hence Gasol). Now if Dirk was a third option (being paid 2nd or 3rd option money) I htink much of his criticism would go away

Although I agree with you that USC was NOT prepared as with Stanford last year or UCAL two years ago; which is the real problem. But Averell Spicer needs to keep his head in a close game, especially in a situation where you give a team a first down and a chance to score 7 points, when they had been held to 3 points....with 10 seconds left. And in reference to King Football about Coach Satan (I say with respect and to be a smart@#*), I actually agree with you. The man has proved he could build winners at two different schools, the man can flat out prepare his team and excecute a game plan in college football.
