Slaton, a great RB for WVU, simply lost his luster last year and may be a third or fourth round draft choice. It's selfish but he would have been well-served to stay at WVU for his senior year regardless of the coaching changes.

The Devine talk is silly. WVU fans can only hope Devine provides the numbers and performance that Slaton gave us in three years.

Good luck to Super Steve. We're pulling for you.

The loss of Owen Schmitt far outweighs the loss of Steve Slaton. Both are good players. However Schmitt was the blocker for Slaton, Devine, White.

Here's a thought. And I'd be foolish not to throw this out there.
Slaton is turning pro. He said he made up his mind prior to the Fiesta Bowl and wanted to tell Coach Stewart after the game when he had time to sit down with him.
Slaton left on his second carry of the game. Hamstring injury?

Q: Did he REALLY get hurt, knowing he was leaving WVU?
