This trade is bad for both clubs. The Giants get older and the Yankees get weaker.

Don't worry, the Yanks are just saving their chips for the Bedard sweepstakes. That is, if the Orioles would trade him inside the division. If not, the staff is pretty much complete the way it is. Which means the Yankees will be onlookers at this week's winter meetings, not participants, since the lineup is set.

Hughes, Kennedy, Cabrera, Horne for Santana and Delmon Young.

What do you think?

BEDARD WILL BE A YANKEE IN 2008
Posted Tuesday December 04, 2007, About: Yankees shift efforts to A's deal
Hughes goes only for Santana. Bedard is the better pitcher, he should be the target. The only reason that they've targeted Haren is because Beane will deal quickly if the deal works. Baltimore will make you wait until January while they do their "research". If the Yankees could strike a quick deal with Baltimore to counter the Sox getting Santana, they would. They would be replacing one left handed stud with another.

Cash, GO GET BEDARD!

Eric Bedard is the gem of the postseason and no one knows him. Here are a few of his stats:

2004 4.59 ERA 121 Ks .270 BAVG
2005 4.00 ERA 125 Ks .260 BAVG
2006 3.76 ERA 171 Ks .258 BAVG
2007 3.16 ERA 221 Ks .212 BAVG

I bet you the Yankees wouldn't have to give up Hughes, Cabrera and another minor leaguer to get that!

ForeverNY,

Your analogies are fine for the regular season. Now let's look at the postseason results:

Wang/Beckett = Beckett by a mile. Wang blew two games in 2007. Beckett is an October machine.

Pettite/Schilling = Dead even. Two great postseason performers

Daisuke/Hughes = ???

Buch/Joba = ???.

Lester/Kennedy = ???.

Bullpen = Sox by a run.

Offense = Yanks by a run.

Defense = Dead even.

It all will depend on the kids. No matter what happens to Johan, its all about the kids.

Only season tickets to the Red Sox and Yankees.

There is a supernatural connection between Minnesota and Boston....Big Papi, Randy Moss, Kevin Garnett, Johan Santana. I say let him go to Beantown. Yanks should go after Haren anyway. And for God's sake, KEEP HUGHES!
