Yeah, let's just purge ourselves of him. When I first read this, my gut feeling was "No, Jay's an Oriole, we can't get rid of him. It wouldn't be the same going to a game without hearing Gibbons." But why would I want it to be the same? That's just conservative thinking, which is not what the Orioles need right now. I want it to be better, and if that means getting rid of some big names (and some useless ones too) so we can start growing a future, then I'm fine with that. If he's not going to help us in the long run (and he probably won't help us in the short run either), he's not needed. Baltimore needs to learn how to get rid of a player that's not improving (sorry, Kyle Boller). He's had too long already and he's no where near what he should be, even after using HGH. Should he even be punished? It's a performance ENHANCEMENT; where's this supposed enhancement? The only thing that's enhanced about him is his ability to look like an alcoholic Ronald McDonald with his make-up off. I can understand holding onto Roberts, but not Gibbons (even though they're like butt-buddies or something).

Look, there is a conspiracy against Roger Clemens. Brian McNamee is a big effing liar trying to save himself from being charged with anything, Pettitte agreed to protest and the MLB agreed to only release he TRIED steroids, Mitchell picked on Clemens because he left the Red Sox for the Blue Jays, Yankees (division rivals), and it's just a bunch of jerks trying to cover their own asses by letting Roger take the fall!

Billick got dumped, he's just going through the motions. He's in that denial phase. He'll find another job in the NFL. Afterall, he did win a superbowl and the Ravens were a pretty decent team under him except for the 2005 and 2007 seasons. His coaching just got a little stagnant and he blew easy wins. Yes, they messed up against the Patriots, but how many teams have lost to the Patriots by 3 points in the final minutes? A lot. The most obscene loss was completely blowing it against Miami. 2 millimeters from the end zone and you kick a field goal for the tie then lose the game?!?! That was the demise of Brian Billick in Baltimore.

I think there's a good chance of this. The Orioles need as much help as they can get and Texiera would be a great fan favorite since he's from Severna Park, MD. We went to the same highschool actually, and I took Spanish with White Sox's Gavin Floyd, oddly enough. He'd be a big hit here and would give the Orioles some immediate help while they're rebuilding.
