I was surprised not to see him on the list.

So, having a mega-rich owner doesn't translate to having the richest team (or titles)? Interesting.

I never thought of it that way Gaucho. You're right, the two clubs were in opposite places just months ago. Wow! When was the last time both clubs were playing well and happy with their own on and off-field management?

Anyway, Real needs to think DEFENSE FIRST until they get healthy; stop worrying about entertaining and focus on winning. It all starts at the back and they've been leaking goals since the preseason and there's NO EXCUSE for it. Last I checked they don't play any defenders they didn't have last year when they won the Liga. What changed with that group? HellifIknow, but if Schuster is a great coach he will adapt their style of play to the reality of what's going on until that reality changes. And they had better do it quick lest they be run off the pitch vs. Barca. And it WILL happen.

No way in hades Calderon doesn't make Schuster the scapegoat. He's that much of a dirtbag, but it's also true that Mijatovic is responsible for what's going on at the club. Yes, they've had a slew of injuries but that's why they should have found some reinforcements in the offseason but instead they created such a shytstorm of controversy with Ronaldogate that they not only unsettled the team but lost there most creative player in the process to Man Freaking City of all places. STUPID STUPID STUPID by the entire front office at Madrid. The arrogance of Calderon, Mijatovic, and Schuster to think the squad they decided to go into the season with would still be good enough was just asinine.

The defense is wretched and Schuster is acting like there's no problem. I makes me sick. Having said all that, I think it would be another STUPID move to fire Schuster. YOU CAN'T WIN EVERY YEAR. But you can field a disciplined side every night out and Madrid is playing like they're strangers in defense. Still, you cannot have a these kneejerk reactions to adversity. So let me get this straight: every season that Madrid doesn't dominate the world the coach MUST be fired?????? It's embarrassing.

I'm so disgusted with Madrid right now I find them hard to watch.
Posted Saturday October 25, 2008, About: Real Madrid gives up on Ronaldo
Look, they need a striker. Ruud can't do it all up front. Raul is simply past his prime. Higuian will get you maybe 7-10 goals a year - tops. Saviola?? I guess we'll never know.

I pray that they leave this man in Manchester and admit they slept on him when he was at Sporting. ManU turned him into a monster and he'll NEVER wear white. That's football for ya. Find your own C. Ronaldo. You've already lost your most creative player in Robinho over this futile pursuit. Move the **** on...PLEASE.

And find a young, hungry target man.

Posted Monday September 15, 2008, About: Del Piero headed to MLS?
Guess I'm a glutton for punishment because I keep coming back to read these "Veteran Euro star to play in MLS??" rumors and it really gets on my nerves because we don't need the biggest stars to make the game better here. We need the skills on the pitch more than the big names and it doesn't require breaking the bank. Yes the salary cap needs to be raised or eliminated but I can't even watch the MLS package I purchased because of all the errant passes and easy shots that don't even hit the target, the pi$$ poor first touches - the comical defending...it's just hard to watch sometimes especially now that the European season has started.

Don't know much about this player but I do find it interesting that there is an international player that is looking to join the USMNT rather than avoid it to play for another country.

Think this is bad? Check the next story or "truth & rumor". It goes something like this: "Zidane said Ronaldo is best in the world"

Now, I didn't even know CR7 was that good, but now that Zidane says so I've changed my mind about him.
Posted Monday September 08, 2008, About: Zidane: Ronaldo is world's best
Yeah, that C. Ronaldo guy is pretty good.

By the way, does it sound anymore ridiculous than "Real Salt Lake"??
Posted Sunday September 07, 2008, About: Barcelona launching Miami MLS team?
I hope they do name the club "Barcelona USA". It would automatically make them the most hated team in the league. Not such a bad thing adding a little extra edge to MLS matches. In fact, I'm begging them to do it just to see what happens to them on a week-to-week basis.
Posted Wednesday August 13, 2008, About: Chelsea to sign Robinho?
On one hand I'm sad to see him go, but one the other I don't really care. I'm just ready for the season to start so we can win our third Liga in a row and maybe get a sniff of the Champions League final. The Copa del Rey would be nice too.

Robinho is acting like there's really something like loyalty in pro sports anymore. They're all slaves or mercenaries or whatever you wanna call them to clubs these days. I'm not saying it's right, I just don't like to see a player whine when forced to face the business end of this game head on. His attitude should be all about proving Madrid wrong so that he can look Calderon in the eye everyday like "What the hell were you thinking, man?" Of course I'm saying this because I don't want him to leave but I think it's bad business on both sides. What do you expect in these days of lost loyalty?

I would suggest Rosenberg as that would give him a better chance at playing in the UEFA Cup or Champions League.

You are so spot on my friend. Hate to say it, but for a guy like Xavier to get bounced by an MLS side must be the last sign that it's time to hang up the boots for good.
Posted Tuesday July 22, 2008, About: Ronaldo won't rule out Galaxy move
MEATHEAD: What do you expect of a 13-year-old league with a minuscule salary cap, low salaries, not enough soccer-specific stadiums, etc.???

MLS is still sorting itself out and NO it will never be as big as the EPL. It's stupid to even put the two leagues in the same breath in terms of popularity. The English have had a pro league since before most of our grannies were born. MLS does NOT EVER HAVE TO BE AS POPULAR AS THE EPL in order to be respected. Why compare MLS to the BIGGEST league in the world anyway?? Gimme a break dude.
Posted Monday July 21, 2008, About: Robinho's change of heart?
I think he'd be OK. Everyone seems to think he'd step onto an EPL pitch and immediately snap in half, but they seem to have forgotten that Peter Crouch is still kicking balls about in England and he ain't exactly a massive human being.

They think because of Eduardo's injury all Brazilian attackers are doomed to serious injury in the EPL. I'll say it again - that foul Eduardo took would have broken Jesus' leg.
Posted Monday July 21, 2008, About: Robinho's change of heart?
I can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing Ronaldo won't be coming to Madrid yet. The team Madrid has now needs at least another season together and they will be European champions. Calderon is the only person in Madrid that NEEDS Ronaldo to come just so he can say he bought the best player in the world as he promised - nevermind the financial hole CR7 would put the club in.

Why waste all that money for such a short time to have him. If he wants to come retire that's fine but everyone knows he's going back to Europe. Absolutely stupid idea.
