We need for American players to step up and be more competitive more consistently.
.
I would agree that site promotions who make live attendance the focus will help. I live within 2 hours of Tulsa, and have no Idea when or where the Tulsa LPGA stop is played. This is an oversight by the LPGA in creating local interest in a great tournament field.
Being drafted late in the first round isn't all bad. It means you go to a winning team vs a losing team. A winner need contribution, not distractions, and Mario will give them that.
Many of us were pulling for him and he didn't let us down. He fell victim to the playoff hole selection, a loooooog dogleg right which forced him to attempt to carry the corner, a move not suited to his game. Tiger had a great tournament, but Rocco had a CAREER tournament. He gives all average golfers hope for that one great day!!!
they won, without him, and without the BS he brings as baggage. The attitude will not get him where he wants to be.
TEAM works a lot better than I.
Trade him while he still has value
Imagine in any other arena, NBA, NFL, MLB..... no refs or umpires, call your own game.
Thompson make the right call, at his own expense. He didn't have to worry about a replay because he automatically did the right thing, he plays by the rules and called the penalty on himself.
LAWRENCE - Even if Kansas coach Bill Self had taken the Oklahoma State job, a special young lady in his life let him know he would have to move without her.
Monday afternoon, Self was trying to get some sleep in his San Antonio hotel room before that night's national championship game with Memphis. But his daughter, Lauren Self, a junior at Lawrence Free State High, came in and woke him up.
"Hey, Dad, I just saw on ESPN that we may be going to Stillwater," she said.
"Trust me, sweetheart, no one is talking like that," Self told her.
"Well, I just want to let you know that if that's best for us, do it," she replied. "I'll be fine back here (in Lawrence)."
Message: Don't even think of moving your daughter right before her senior year in high school.
"She let me know she wouldn't be going," Self said. "I thought that was pretty sweet of her to let me know she'd be fine in Lawrence, but that was probably a pretty good way to get away from her parents."
All turned out just fine, of course. The interrupted nap didn't prevent Self from coaching the Jayhawks to the national title, and Lauren's parents will be here for her senior year.
Would you bet against Tiger?
Stillwater, OK, a very small town in the middle of nowhere.
It would take one &^%)( of a lot besides money.
It gives players on the cut line a chance to move up, and incentive for those a stroke or two above to move up as well.
It should create more aggressive golf in the earlier tee times on Saturday rather than playing it safe for a paycheck.
Fair, NO!!! but true.
Even if Sampson where to prevail in the NCAA after being fired, it will take 4-5 years to play out.
The potential damage to UI basketball for keeping him is far worse.
He's gone.
regretfully, not many
