Tampa didn't want him badly enough to give GB what they wanted. Also, the AFC would be GB preference anyway.
Posted Wednesday July 30, 2008, About: LPGA facing sponsor woes?
I personally watch when American players are in Contention. The influx of strong Asian players who are winning is a huge cause of loss of the American audience.

We need for American players to step up and be more competitive more consistently.
.
I would agree that site promotions who make live attendance the focus will help. I live within 2 hours of Tulsa, and have no Idea when or where the Tulsa LPGA stop is played. This is an oversight by the LPGA in creating local interest in a great tournament field.
Posted Tuesday June 17, 2008, About: KU losing Chalmers to draft
Chalmers is a class act. he has represented himself, his family and Kansas extemely well. He knows the game, plays great defense and is a TEAM player. Add the offense he has demonstrated and he will develop into a great NBA player.

Being drafted late in the first round isn't all bad. It means you go to a winning team vs a losing team. A winner need contribution, not distractions, and Mario will give them that.
Posted Tuesday June 17, 2008, About: Mediate pulls out of Travelers
After the great week he had, he needs a break.

Many of us were pulling for him and he didn't let us down. He fell victim to the playoff hole selection, a loooooog dogleg right which forced him to attempt to carry the corner, a move not suited to his game. Tiger had a great tournament, but Rocco had a CAREER tournament. He gives all average golfers hope for that one great day!!!
Posted Friday June 13, 2008, About: Mickelson changes clubs for Open
It simply supports what all of us have been told, that with the new balls and clubs, loft is your friend. Most of us Amateurs would be better off with 11-14 degree drivers.
Posted Sunday June 08, 2008, About: Shockey points finger at Giants
Team,.............. that word is a foreign language for many of today's coddled "superstars", who become legends in their own minds.

they won, without him, and without the BS he brings as baggage. The attitude will not get him where he wants to be.
Posted Friday May 09, 2008, About: Senator irked at NFL over Spygate stance
The do nothing congress need to focus on their performance rather than this.
Posted Saturday April 19, 2008, About: Shockey wants new role or trade
Doesn't the Giants record after he was injured speak for itself???

TEAM works a lot better than I.

Trade him while he still has value
Posted Monday April 14, 2008, About: Amateur calls penalty on self
This is exactly why golf is so much different than other sports. While we play the game, we are also responsible for the integrity of the game.

Imagine in any other arena, NBA, NFL, MLB..... no refs or umpires, call your own game.

Thompson make the right call, at his own expense. He didn't have to worry about a replay because he automatically did the right thing, he plays by the rules and called the penalty on himself.

It's always great to see a new talent rise to the occasion. At some point there will be someone to challenge Tiger's dominance.
Posted Friday April 11, 2008, About: What's keeping Self at KU?
It didn't hurt that his daughter told him if they moved she was staying in Lawrence for her senior year of HS.

LAWRENCE - Even if Kansas coach Bill Self had taken the Oklahoma State job, a special young lady in his life let him know he would have to move without her.

Monday afternoon, Self was trying to get some sleep in his San Antonio hotel room before that night's national championship game with Memphis. But his daughter, Lauren Self, a junior at Lawrence Free State High, came in and woke him up.

"Hey, Dad, I just saw on ESPN that we may be going to Stillwater," she said.

"Trust me, sweetheart, no one is talking like that," Self told her.

"Well, I just want to let you know that if that's best for us, do it," she replied. "I'll be fine back here (in Lawrence)."

Message: Don't even think of moving your daughter right before her senior year in high school.

"She let me know she wouldn't be going," Self said. "I thought that was pretty sweet of her to let me know she'd be fine in Lawrence, but that was probably a pretty good way to get away from her parents."

All turned out just fine, of course. The interrupted nap didn't prevent Self from coaching the Jayhawks to the national title, and Lauren's parents will be here for her senior year.

Isn't this breaking news!!!!!!!!

Would you bet against Tiger?
Posted Wednesday April 09, 2008, About: Zach's tips for beating Tiger
He sure makes playing the golf course vs another competitor sound easy. It's a great strategy for all of us, regardless of level of competition, but so hard to actually accomplish.
Posted Monday April 07, 2008, About: Billionaire OSU booster wants Self
this is what is wrong with college basketball. Self is from Oklahoma, as his wife is as well. I don't think they could possibly lure him,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, except for the money.
Posted Wednesday April 02, 2008, About: Will OSU seek Self's help?
Lawrence, KS, approx 20 miles west of KC, on interstate 70. Fantastic location.

Stillwater, OK, a very small town in the middle of nowhere.

It would take one &^%)( of a lot besides money.

A course does not have to be long to be challenging. Southern Hills in Tulsa last year proved that.
Posted Monday February 18, 2008, About: Some want Sampson to stay
Unfortunately, WE, the fans send the message that winning is all that matters. You can cut it, slice it, bake it, fry it. But in the end, the only thing that matters is winning. Sampson knows how to get kids to play and WIN.
Posted Saturday February 16, 2008, About: Players want to dump cut policy
This makes sense for everyone.

It gives players on the cut line a chance to move up, and incentive for those a stroke or two above to move up as well.

It should create more aggressive golf in the earlier tee times on Saturday rather than playing it safe for a paycheck.
Posted Saturday February 16, 2008, About: Knight to recruit Indiana players
It's going to be very difficult to walk in Dad's shadow.

Fair, NO!!! but true.
Posted Saturday February 16, 2008, About: Indiana will fire Sampson soon
Jim O'Brien won a total less than 10 million including interest.

Even if Sampson where to prevail in the NCAA after being fired, it will take 4-5 years to play out.

The potential damage to UI basketball for keeping him is far worse.

He's gone.
Posted Thursday February 14, 2008, About: Players suggest cut compromise
Only a handful of players are in control. Who would notice if half those players living on the cut-line played on the Nationwide tour?

regretfully, not many
