Posted Wednesday December 03, 2008, About: How Horns can still win national championship
Just reading this made my head spin. The college football bowl system is the most inane and idiotic system in all of sports. I love seeing the havoc these computers and polls create, and then hearing the BCS' John Swofford try and convince the populace that the current system is the best one. Just be honest and say it's about the money. Why are the higher ups so resistant to change?
Posted Tuesday October 21, 2008, About: Rodney Harrison's injury may be his last
Rodney has been great for the Pats. Hope he gets to play again, although his recent spate of injuries these past few years may prevent that.
Posted Tuesday October 14, 2008, About: Red Sox fans boo Varitek
Varitek has been great for so many years, as a catcher and in the clubhouse. That said, there has been no denying his precipitous fall off in production this year. At 36 and in a contract year, this will likely be sayonara for Varitek. Once he retires and some time has passed, he will be fondly remembered by The Nation.

Nine kids by nine women? Repeated incidences with marijuana use? Cocaine dealer?

Travis Henry may have left the ghetto, but the ghetto never left Travis Henry.
Posted Friday August 15, 2008, About: Source: Patriots beat Jets to Lynch
Kellen Clemens whatever your name is you are a true fan, with your team through the thick and thin, but your jets have no chance of winning the AFC East as long as Brady is healthy and belichick is coaching. perhaps in 8 years or so when Brady approaches 40, the other teams in the AFC east may have a chance again to contend. The past 7 years do not lie, no matter what your feelings are. The patriots are a perennial contender, the Jets are not. Talk smack when you, you know, actually have a winning season. Running your mouth after your team just put up a 4-12 stinker makes you sound stupid, my friend.
Posted Friday June 06, 2008, About: Another Patriot linked to alleged dealer
The headline is misleading. Wiggins hasn't played for the Patriots since what, 2002? He went on to play for other teams after that. This is just another pile it on the Patriots story. Enough already....
Posted Wednesday May 28, 2008, About: Porter: Cheating Patriots got off easy
All of the vitriol being spewed by Patriot haters is a riot. Bill Belichick is a deity in Boston. He got a rousing ovation at the Celtics game last week. None of your snarky comments matter. They got 3SB's and probably one or two more are in the cards begore Brady retires.

Remember: After Spygate broke, they an roughshod over the league. So much for taping signals being an advantage.

Joey Porter wishes he could play for the Pats. Secretly, all players would love it.
Posted Friday May 23, 2008, About: Cleveland too small for LeBron?
Like I said in my earlier post, market size matters little. People will come to Cleveland to play with him. The reason he will leave Cleveland is because he will be able to better capitalize on his non basketball ventures in a market like NYC or LA. LeBron is a brand, not merely a ballplayer.
Posted Friday May 23, 2008, About: Young sorry for Internet photos
I am not a Titan fan but give me a break. The guy is what, 23 or 24 years old, and he is being criticized for having a good time? He is a person after all. what is he supposed to do? Sit at home every night and watch CSI and drink wheatgrass every night because he is a pro athlete? I work very hard all day long; when work is over I like to go out and play sometimes. It doesn't mean I am not dedicated to my job. Leave him alone.

Sorry, I meant Chad Johnson.
Posted Friday May 23, 2008, About: Horn disgruntled in Atlanta
I live in New Orleans and this guy wants constant attention. He is a Chad Jackson type, that would dress in bright gold and black suits on game day, replete with a top hat and shiny pimp stick. He would pull up to all the fans with his blasting music and strut down the walkway to the Saints entrance, basked in the glory of being Joe Horn. It was a spectacle, and that was what he wanted. No one in Atlanta is paying any attention to him; he is pisse*d off. End of story. Remember this is the same guy who hid a cell phone in the padding around the field goal posts and ripped it out when he scored a TD, pretending to make a phone call. His departure to Atlanta was bittersweet; so many of us New Orleanians looked forward to his game day buffoonery; he was always good for a laugh, that Joe Horn.
Posted Friday May 23, 2008, About: Cleveland too small for LeBron?
LeBron could win a championship in Cleveland. He is so talented that, if he were to voice his committment to remaining in Cleveland, other star players would want to come there, just for the opportunity to play with one of the greats. However, seeing that LeBron has other aspirations in marketing himself, acting, etc, Cleveland is definitely not the place for him. LA or NYC are the obvious choices. He would rule NYC, the biggest stage of them all. Madison Avenue would plaster his face everywhere, the Knicks version of Jeter. He would have the finest restaurants and nightlife at his finger tips, the definitive iconic sports figure of the cultural capital of the world. He could carry on the torch passed by Kobe, playing in front of movie stars every night, in beautiful weather, with branding opportunities everywhere he looks. Why the hell would he want in stay in cold, run down, teeny Cleveland? He would be STUPID to stay there. Even Chicago, Philadelphia, and Boston would be bigger markets and more prestigious cities to play for. If he is as serious as he says about being a billionaire and a global brand, he has no choice to leave, no matter how sentimental 'home' is.
Posted Friday May 23, 2008, About: Can Mavs get anything for Howard?
I would wager that more than a few NBA'ers 'relax' with marijuana in their downtime. That, in and of itself, is not a big deal. Sure it is illegal, but hardly a serious drug. ( I don't smoke by the way, so I am not excusing his behavior.) However, one would have to surmise that this guy has limited intelligence. Broadcasting extracurricular habits frowned upon by larger society, coupled with throwing a birthday party in the midst of a team collapse, fuel the perception that the NBA is a breeding ground for young men who, save for their athletic skills, would never be living lives of privilege. God, you'd think that for millions of dollars to year to run up and down a court, these dudes would know enough to behave like role models. Talk about getting your priorities wrong. Can Howard even spell "Maverick' or define it?
Posted Monday May 19, 2008, About: LeBron supports personnel changes
I was very disappointed in LeBron James. Bigger than most of his peers on the court, he seems to flop at the slightest touch, and whines on one of the few occassions a call doesn't go his way. It seemed to me that the refs treated him like Jesus out there. Am I wrong?

Wouldn't it be fun to watch him stew on the sidelines all year? Plus, with all that extra time, he could make up some really great celebrations for his teamates!

Posted Tuesday April 22, 2008, About: Worst trade in Dodgers history?
I remember the summer of 1999, and I was spending the night with my grandmother watching the Sox-Yankees game on her tiny television. Jeter, O'neill, Posada, etc all went down swinging. Pedro had 17 strikeouts that night, and my grandma had to tell me to keep it down more than once, as I am shouting at the TV, whooping it up. Great memory. All around the city that next day it was "Dude, did you see Pedro last night?" His icy glare was plastered all over the front pages of the Boston Globe. #45 jerseys were everywhere in those days. A pitcher that dominating doesn't come around very often.
Posted Tuesday April 22, 2008, About: Worst trade in Dodgers history?
As a lifelong Sox fan, there was nothing greater than watching Pedro Martinez pitch at the turn of the century. More often than not, he was masterful, baffling hitters and driving Fenway into a frenzy. On every two strike pitch, the fans would get up and chant "Pedro, Pedro," and when he would deliver that 3rd strike, the place would go nuts. Absolute electricity. I miss those days.....
Posted Thursday April 17, 2008, About: Ocho-Cinco turns on Carson
Chad reminds me of ig'nant Thuggsters on the streetcorners in New Orleans. The only thing that makes him different is $$$$$$. PacMan, Chris Henry, Vick, DeAngelo Hall and Chad are all cut from the same cloth my friends...

And this is not a racial thing at all, this is a ghettofied thing, a class issue. These people don't know how to behave proeperly in a lawful society.
Posted Thursday April 17, 2008, About: Ocho-Cinco turns on Carson
Why should he be able to issue demands and get his way? Are the inmates running the asylum here? The sad truth is, Chad is following the tried and true path followed by all prima donna players: dis your former team, refuse to participate in camp, and threaten to sit out, leaving Cinncinatti with the option of paying a lot of money to someone who isn't playing, and then losing him for nothing when the contract expires. Seems to me like the odds are in Chad's favor. It's a damn shame; I hope the Bengals refuse to trade him. Thuggie little bit*h, go get a job in the real world and try that B.S.

Go dance and dip over to the grill, swivel and give me my burger in a 360 spin!
Posted Thursday April 03, 2008, About: Ocho-Cinco won't sit out '08
Receivers better than Chad (off the top of my head): Randy Moss, Reggie Wayne, TJ Housh, Terrell Owens, Wes Welker, Larry Fitzgerald, Braylon Edwards, Brandon Marshall. Some of these are subjective, but he is a malcontent, which strips some of his statistical veneer.

Also, his buffoonery is hilarious. Plays for a crap team, scores a TD when they're losing, and then executes elaborately staged dog and pony show.
