I hope the 'stros dont sign sheets--the player is a garunteed DL spot. In his contract year he's struggling to stay healthy. Also, the Astros have no hope of signing CC, he's way out of our market.

Cubs' and MLB fans attacking any Houston Astros fan should be ashamed of themselves right now. Sure, our owner made a dumb decision; and sure, some fans are taking an irrational viewpoint on the matter, but can you blame them? The majority of Houston is still power-less, as most grocery stores and business still arent running.

Most out of towners fail to recognize this, because Ike is no longer getting as big of national coverage it originally had--which is understandable, but doesnt mean the doom is over. Many Houstonians, including myself, have evacuated and have nowhere to go but hotel reservation after hotel reservation.

So excuse us for being upset, but dont call us retarded, whiny, or idiots--any fanbase would be upset after such circumstances.

I also find it pathetic that it takes me, a teenage evacuee, to point this out to y'all. "ThisBudz4Me", "Mike3775", and "jake" among others should watch their hostility. Seriosuly, guys. This is f*cking rediculous.

hows it a silly rule?

He's not exactly setting a good example for kids, either. Keep in mind kids have to wear helmets when they are allowed to coach 1st base in little league, p.o.n.y league, and eventually high school too. I cant wait to see the day a little leager from L.A refuses to wear a helmet because a coach on his favorite team doesnt need to. Players look up to these teams, and mock what the players and coaches do. Bowa should know better, hes been in the game long enough.

I know players and agents want to get as much money as they can, and there's no way a round it, but I wish these players would realize there's not that big of a difference between a 100 mil and 110 mil contract. Tim Hudson said it best--once you get that high in the contracts, your talking about making sure your grandkid's kids are going to be finacially stable. Players should raelize that this sport isnt just a game, to the dedicated fans atleast.

The texans have been one of the better stories of the nfl this year, who have been riddled with injuries like no other team. i no every team has injuries, but our starting qb, star wide reciever, running back, and pro bowl kick returner have spent time on the DL. calling us THAT BAD is really inaccurate considering what the texans have had to deal with this year.

If Drayton only cared about putting fans in the seats why didnt he spend the extra 8 million dollars to budge on Beltran. Considering Houston's hispanic population, that would have been a no-brainer for filling out seats and earning money. Before you critisize McLane, do some research.

All of you are failing to realize they are shopping for a center fielder because Pence is naturally a right fielder. Hunter would much rather play right than Center, so why not kill two birds with one stone, and get a solid OF/CF and make Pence happy.

Do the astros need pitching? of coarse. But they can go out and shop for that, too.
