why are they even thinking of wasting money on re signing Lilja??!! he is a pylon! Any one of the kids they are playing now are WAY better than he is. Chelios should be allowed to play as long as he wants, his age doesn't matter cause he is still one of the most consistent d men in the league. They don't need to sign a goalie, Look at Howard's numbers this year so far.He has a great save percentage,he is just playing at a bad time right now. I would like to see any team win with their top 4 D- men out!

The Wings have a nack of keeping players that other teams gave up on (Draper, Maltby, Chelios) and lots of players have re singned to stay in Motown when they could have gone on to bigger paydays( Lidstrom and Datsyuk)The Wings will give him fair money, and why go play somewhere for a little more money and get you a** handed to you evry night?

a bookend for Cole would be great! teams couldn't double team him. Also a pass rush from the front 4 would mean we don't have to rely on the blitz so much, which would help our secondary. I like the idea of a stud pass rusher. Just look at the Giants D... it all starts with the fact that they can get to the QB using 4 rushers.

Who wrote this article??! They have given up the fewest goals in the league, and their goalies rarely face more than 20 shots a game... why would they need a top 4 defenceman?I would put Lidstrom,Rafalsk, Chelios and Lebda against anyone's top 4.

I don't know anything about this kid, but I do know that Babcock won't have him on his team unless he plays tough.GoCanada, i take it you don't think the Swedes on the Wings are that tough but i would disagree. Nobody plays tougher than Holmstrom.Franzen and Samuelson both play in the corners ,and Zetterberg plays hard everywhere on the ice. Swedish players have come a long way ,and their Junior team at the Worlds this year was just as physical as Canada.

He is playing in the IHL for gawds sake!It's not like the Flames have a deep roster that should be hard to crack. Yet if Burke is stupid enough to let him come back, some player who has been busting his butt since October will be out of a spot.If I was on the Ducks and was treated this way, I would be pissed. And even if it wasn't my spot taken ,I would wonder why I was putting in a whole season's worth of effort, when some other guy can drop in 2 /3 of the season in and get rewarded the same as me( and in most cases better than me). I don't like the message Burke is sending to his players lettin Selanne and Niedermayer pull this B.S.

Yes Freebird... I have been to The Joe, more than a few times actually. I know it USED to be packed, but over the last few years attendance has been down, and they haven't sold out in a while, which is a shame for the best team in the NHL

We still need McNabb..Kolb isn't ready yet,so why throw him to the wolves? And if Mc Nabb can stay healthy he is still one of the top 5 Qb's in the league... But why the F is Andy Reid still hanging around??!! His play calling is the biggest reason why we are dying this season... he is a pu**ssy who loves the draw play and the screen WAY too much. Bring in a coach with some balls and watch what this team will do next year!... oh ya... the Cowgirls SUCK!

Good riddance to him! He's hurt too often, and when he plays he doesn't make big plays like other tight ends in the league. He is the most overrated tight end in the NFL. Every year is supposed to be his" breakout season" , but every year he has been average. Maybe a change of scenery will be good for him, but I doubt it.

Good...he could be one of the most overrated players in the NFL. He gets hurt too often and when he plays he rarely makes an impact(unless he is dropping a pass) I doubt many outside of Philly fans even know who he is.Bring in a game changer like Whitten, or Shockey, or Heap,or... wait a minute, pretty much anyone would be better than LJ.Actually, the Eagles already have better tight ends on the roster, just let them play!

Why Burke paid so much for a washed up, injury prone player is beyond me, but as a Wings fan... I'm glad he did! Wasn't he watching during last years playoffs??! The game has passed Bertuzzi by ,even when he is healthy.Bertuzzi was great for the "OLD" NHL, but he is too slow and not skilled enough to play the game as it is played today.
