DC, Nathan Horton could also be a future ex-Panther. Big kid with talent that would do well with a team around him.

Posted Thursday October 30, 2008, About: Melrose: Lightning owner not meddling
I'm not here to defend Melrose or his owners but I will say I have had the 'pleasure' of meeting Al Strachan and he's a slimy grease-ball of a reporter. All of his stories come from annonymous sources that are somehow connected to the story but he never backs it up with any credible proof that its true. His writing ability and his personality are weak so he has to make s**t up so people will pay attention to him. Watch him between periods on Hockey Night in Canada if you have the chance. He's always the one that says something stupid and usually the other guys just ignore him.

Posted Tuesday October 21, 2008, About: Burke ducks Leafs questions
Odd...people were saying that he won the cup with a team Bryan Murray built and wait a couple years for the 'Burke effect'. Well, it's been a couple years and the 'Burke effect' is in full effect and his highly touted and talented team has 1 win? Signs his old buddies and just old players to big contracts, lets a couple vet's dictate when they will start season, reaches and exceeds the cap and has to trade away one of his better young offensive guys and whines to the midget everytime someone talks bad about him in the paper. Yup...this is truely a Brian Burke team now.
Posted Wednesday September 24, 2008, About: Blues lose Johnson for season
The story on Sportsnet.ca is that he was playing some form of 'golf cart polo' when he got hurt. 2 weeks after the season is over I can see this as an excusable mistake by a young guy blowing off some steam. But 2 weeks before camp starts...? This is a pretty bonehead move by a guy no matter what your age.
I wonder if the story is true, how will it affect his contract. Most of them have 'reasonable risk' clauses written into them.
Posted Monday September 15, 2008, About: Flames hope Nilson goes to Russia
Of course Keenan doesn't want him on the team, he has some offensive talent and know's how to put 3 or 4 words together in a sentence...it's broken english but it's still a sentence. He's hoping to take that Million dollars and sign a couple more meat-heads to play on his 2nd and 3rd lines. Iggy and Cammilari are going to have their work cut out for them this year because their talent pool is about as deep as a kiddies pool.

Is Halle Berry the 'hippest' reference the Edmonton Journal could come up with?

YODA |

I don't know about you Yoda but Halle Berry is mighty fine no matter how 'unhip' you think she is. The guy that wrote this article has been around a long time so I'm surprised he even knew who she is. I guess this being an article related to Montreal, he could have picked Avril Lavin or Mitsou...but then he would have looked like a dirty old man. I say Halle was a solid choice.
Posted Thursday August 21, 2008, About: About those Hemsky trade rumors
Watching Hemsky most of the year and seeing how he has developed since he has been an Oiler I will have to say I truely doubt that they are considering trading him. He's a fan favorite, they have him locked up for at least 5 more years at a reasonable salary and he's still a kid that is only going to get better. And he is one of their top true talents on the team. And Insane Hussain, not sure if you're knocking his toughness or not but if you are you're wrong. Unlike 87, he takes the hit (and he gets hit a lot) and gets up and back into the play without crying to the ref. Regher from the Flames loves to cheep shot him every time they play.
They just locked up Grebeshkov as well and he is following the same path as Hemsky in his early development.
Posted Monday June 09, 2008, About: Leafs, Wilson have verbal agreement
Apparently the word that describes a women that takes money for some lovin' isn't allowed. In case you're wondering it rhynms with 'door'.
Posted Monday June 09, 2008, About: Leafs, Wilson have verbal agreement
Plan the Parade. The Leafs get Ron Wilson. Looking for a camera **** that feels the way to deal with adults is with annoying sarcasm and loves to blame everyone but himself? You'll love Wilson then. He sure took a lot of credit for the Sharks continued playoff failures. He couldn't wait to blame his players and brag about his overall record as a coach. This guy is a windbag and his arrogance may even surprise the truest of Leaf fans. At least Paul Maurice mixed his arrogance with humor.
Posted Monday May 26, 2008, About: Octopi still fly after NHL warning
Everyone is being too hard on Gary here. If he has issues with something that is a cold blooded, slimy bottom-feeder, who are we to judge? He is clearly the expert on that subject. Can you cross an octopus with a weasel?
Posted Wednesday May 21, 2008, About: Changes for Flyers defense
Hatcher shouldn't be too hard to replace...you can get those orange traffic cones at lots of places. Hell, you don't even need to paint it a different color. He could wear an orange vest and take tickets at the gates, he's already got that 'reach and look behind you' move perfected.
Posted Friday May 16, 2008, About: Roy says no to Avalanche
I think its important that I get this out of the way before it becomes too much of a distraction for everyone involed...I too have said no to the Avalanche. I also said no to the Leafs and the Sharks. As well, I said no to my community league that was looking for members to join the board and I said no to the lady at the grocery store that wanted me to try a sample of some deep fried cheese thingy...sorry, it just didn't look good. This is not the right time for me or my family and I'm flattered that I was never even considered but I know they all want to ask me. Maybe they're just shy.
Posted Tuesday May 13, 2008, About: Leaf sentenced to work program
Wow...get drunk, get in your car and drive, hit someone innocent and injure them, run away like a real man and in the end you get a part time summer job. Hopefully he gets to work outside so he can work on his tan before he has to go back to Leafs training camp. Hey...one part time job to another and both places he may get to hang out with Rob Ramage.
Posted Tuesday May 13, 2008, About: Why San Jose fired Wilson
I just read an article on his firing and the entire thing is laced with 'I' and 'Me' and what I did for this team.
Direct quotes from the story;
"The only thing the team can do better, apparently, is win the Stanley Cup," Ron Wilson said.
"I can't control guys falling down," Ron Wilson said, remembering the decisive goal in San Jose's Game 2 loss to Dallas, which was set up by Joe Pavelski's pratfalling turnover to Brad Richards. "I can't control bounces in the playoffs.
Apparently? The line up you had and you couldn't lead them past the 2nd round? Blaming your players is pretty weak as well. That was Game 2, you could have had 4 more chances to fix it.
I disagree with the post saying that Doug Wilson needs to go. What more can a GM do to put together an elite team? He's done his job very well. Aside from thinking Ron Wilson could take them all the way. Mistake fixed...
Posted Sunday May 11, 2008, About: Blake wants out of Toronto
Yeah, I hear there's a big market for 35 yr old plus, small forwards with one big year under his belt that makes 4 million a year. Maybe the Islanders will take him and MaCabe off your hands. You might even get Comrie in return.
Posted Thursday May 01, 2008, About: Who's willing to take Emery?
My restaurant really needs a bus boy to work the late shift. Ray can work the fryer on weekends if he needs new rims for his hummer. I'll even put a mirror in the kitchen so he can look at his favorite person.

Roger misremembered that he was married when all of this was happening.
Bet he wished he took the same route that Pettite took and fessed up early on and this would have never got so ugly. Speaking of ugly...Mindy McCready sure ain't what she used to be.

Posted Sunday April 27, 2008, About: Did Crosby's dive sink Rangers?
black and gold...That's your defense for it not getting kicked in? You say there is no way he could of because the puck was moving so fast? The funny thing about pro's is that they have faster reaction times than the average joe and all I said was that I thought it was a kicking motion. A kicking motion means his leg was in the air and he moved toward the net at the same time the puck got to him. He didn't just turn his foot and direct it in the net, had he, I wouldn't have had an issue with it. I am not a fan of either team and it means lick to me which one goes to the next round but looking for an open minded conversation questioning something I saw with a Pens fan is obviously not going to happen because it's clear they can do no wrong.
