Burnett for Jeter? Wow, I'd take that simply for the fact Jeter would sell at least 10,000 more tickets alone. But I doubt they would trade to division rivals.

How about for Chin-lung Hu and some prospects of the LA Dodgers?
Posted Wednesday June 25, 2008, About: Three teams chasing T.J. Ford
now I really like T.J. and I was loving the trade of Charlie V. for Ford, but one of them has to go, and I think a big part of that reason is cost; T.J will make 8, while Calderon is set to make less. Get back a player and money and an that can be used for 1 of the many other holes they need to fill.

I pray BC will not trade for Diaw, he's way too soft and inconsistent; he's pretty much a raptor, not playing for Toronto
Posted Tuesday June 17, 2008, About: Leafs draft depends on others
I am probably in the minority here, but I'd like to see them pick a forward like Filatov or Cody Hodgson. Good or bad, they're loaded with expensive d-men who I would think are hard to move, mostly because no one else hired JFJ

If they have to rely on Poni, Devereaux and Moore for secondary scoring, then I might as well get a Tavares 09 jersey right now
Posted Monday June 16, 2008, About: Burnett open to Cubs trade
As a Jays fan, I gotta admit, Burnett is frustrating to watch. At times, he as dominant as any pitcher can be, and at other times, he gets rattled early. I think he is as good as advertised when they signed him to be a #2, and his numbers would be much better if he had the offense behind him. Plus hes got a competetive fire, which is always good.

He's the kind of pitcher, that if, the Jays could hit and maybe manufacture a couple of early runs, he would be better on the mound. Hes got that playing from behind mentality, if they fall behind, Burnett tends to be the type of pitcher that trys not to mess up, rather then attack and be aggressive and take more risks. If I were the J.P., I'd try to pry out some good Left-handed Batting, particularly Tyler Colvin and Matt Matulia.
Posted Friday June 06, 2008, About: Grizzlies owner questions Gasol deal
on the bright side, he got more out of Gasol than Babcock did for Vince Carter. At least he got picks and a young player
Posted Tuesday June 03, 2008, About: Does Kobe have beef with Allen?
wow...such a heated thread for an almost nothing news post. Didn't Ray Allen go though the same thing in Seattle? It doesn't take a genius to figure out that no one player can carry a team to a championship. Even Bill Russell had his Bob Cousy & Wilt had Paul Arizin.

1 things for sure: Kobe CAN'T rap.
Posted Monday June 02, 2008, About: Signs that Burke's headed to Leafs
Don't know how this correlates to Burke coming to T.O...I mean....maybe, just maybe, Jennifer Burke is just a terrible host and the CBC decided she is the suck and canned her for not being talented, or having a big pair of assets to keep her around. I've never seen her show, so this is just speculation.

But I do hope Burke comes to the leafs, I think he's a pretty good GM; and at the very least, he's a personality; and doesn't look like he is going to have a stroke everytime he holds a press conference
Posted Friday May 30, 2008, About: Rose: Beasley's better than me
I like that he's showing modesty. When the majority of experts already say your the best, its nice to see an athlete be humble. Does anyone remember how arrogant Kwame Brown was, claiming he could beat MJ one-on-one?
Posted Thursday May 29, 2008, About: Raptors shopping T.J. Ford
if there is any TJ to Heat talk, I'm fairly sure Colangelo would only look at it if Dorrell is going the other way. Raps need a SF, why would he look to add a PF like Haslem or a Guard like Cook?

Isn't Ricky Davis a free agent? Colangelo is no Babcock, so getting Ford for a player who would be useless for the Raps is a bit unrealistic.
Posted Thursday May 29, 2008, About: Raptors shopping T.J. Ford
TJ for Artest? I'd take that in a heartbeat; scoring, intensity, toughness...but I think he can opt out of his contract this year? And what are the odds he'd be interested in the Raps?

I read somewhere Portland is looking for a starting PG and looking to trade 1 of Jarret Jack/Travis Outlaw/Steve Blake & their 13th pick this year. I think I'd like Travis Outlaw with the 13th pick
Posted Wednesday May 28, 2008, About: Leafs to pitch talent to Sundin
Wow.....how is bostongm NOT in the sports media business, with hard hitting questions like that? Donatello, is my obvious choice, he's got the hockey smarts.

in my opinion, if he does return, which I suspect he will, nothing will change. Once again they'll be in the same position they have been for the last few years; which is struggling to sqeak into the 8th playoff spot only to lose, then fans will once again, demand 'sweeping changes'.
Posted Friday May 23, 2008, About: Baron Davis looking elsewhere?
I'm curious to see if the Nets make a play for him; it seems they're intent on making a splash this off season and although I like Harris, he's no Baron. RJ and one of their Bigs going the other way and maybe they'd make a play for another PG (Calderon or Ford)

Davis/Carter backcourt would make one of the best in the east
Posted Thursday May 22, 2008, About: Nuggets willing to deal Iverson?
I like that idea of AI to Toronto, it fits well in terms of the desperate need of an additional scoring threat, plus he gives the team some much needed grit. But thats a big price tag and its clear that BC likes to keep a team cost efficient. Just don't ask him to come to practise!

Plus no one should get paid more than CB4 on the Raps.
Posted Thursday May 22, 2008, About: Heat may pass on Beasley
mobchester, do you honestly think the Heat will accept a guy with a very question health record, another guy who hasn't played in over a year, and a guy who no one really knows what they're getting each and every night? That would make the Miami Heat the Maple Leafs of the NBA

And would the Raps want a guy who basically plays the same position as Bosh? Back to the main point, it doesn't hurt to listen to offers, and if a team desperately wants Beasley and willing to do whatever it takes, Riley might make like a bandit
Posted Wednesday May 21, 2008, About: Hinrich in Bulls-Heat trade?
Even CP3 wasn't technically the best PG in '05, that was supposed to be Deron Williams, who Utah got by giving up basically 3 1st rounders, so its unfair to evaluate talent coming out of a draft class 3 years removed. But regardless, Rose has the talent to warrant all the number 1 talk and being a local ALWAYS makes them more valuable, regardless of sport (like Vince Young in Houston)

All the talk about the Matrix going to Chi-town is ridiculous; the trade talk all hinged on the availability of Rose if Chicago didn't move up in the lotto.
Posted Wednesday May 21, 2008, About: Hinrich in Bulls-Heat trade?
now why would Toronto want Haslem when they already have an all-star in Bosh? And surely, Toronto wouldn't trade Ford / Calderon for Marcus Banks / Daequan Cook; It doesn't solve any problem they have; which is secondary scoring, rebounding and grit. If a Raptor & Heat trade were to happen, I'd figure Toronto wants a scoring athletic wing, like a Dorell Wright
Posted Wednesday May 21, 2008, About: Hinrich in Bulls-Heat trade?
BigBooth, of all the guards, can you say that any one of them is a legitimate starter? Hinrich is probably the closest, but even he fell short (not that the entire team isn't to blame). Rose is better than any of them, has more upside, and carries the ultimate intangible (local boy) plus, with a rookie contract, he'll come in at a third of Hinrich costs, which helps land another big fish (I.E. Big Ben)
Posted Wednesday May 21, 2008, About: Hinrich in Bulls-Heat trade?
this is getting a bit blown out of purportion; the story states this was before the lotto and now that Chicago gets 1st, it seems kinda unlikely there will be a Miami - Chicago trade; I mean, what exactly could Miami offer for Kirk thats of relatively equal in value for the Bulls? I'm guessing that Chicago wanted a chance to land a home grown product before, but now they hold all the chips.

I still think Bulls will pick Rose and Kirk will be moved on draft day, plenty of teams are in need of a half decent PG (like Clippers, maybe?)
Posted Friday May 16, 2008, About: Why Raps should trade Calderon
The bottom line is Calderon will fetch more in a trade than Ford, he's simply too much of a risk. Personally, I'm a big booster of Ford, he showed some great tenacity before that dirty Horford throwdown.

If the rumors are true, I'd make a pitch for Melo. They need a PG (Chucky Atkins?! c'mon..) also send Rasho, Graham/Garbo/Parker and the #1 pick this year (outside of Rose and maybe Beasley, I don't see a lot of potential entering this year)
