**** Pitt, you just lost to Bowling Green, dont even try and talk about our scedule. We already played a BCS conference team and are going to play another this week. Ya so they both arent that good. Oregon State we just picked up in the last year or so, they were expected to be pretty good. And the orange we probably picked up 6 or 7 years ago, how were we suppose to know how bad they were going to be.

Ya so we a had a couple bad years, atleast we recover unlike some team in western PA.

Ya you won in 2000 but we won the last 7 meetings before that. And we own the all-time record 50-42-4

Say somethin now Pitt, you suck

I think pretty much all of the bashers of the Big Ten have been shut up, thank god, they have nothing overpowering against the Big Ten anyways and they still talk alot of smack.

As a PSU fan, I have high hopes for the team this year but I am very scared to go into Columbus this year and play this OSU team. They are gonna be a very good team.

Anyone and everyone should be afraid to play them, even USC.
Posted Wednesday July 30, 2008, About: Is Joe Pa in trouble at Penn State?
Everyone is talking like they committed these crimes and nothing happened to them. Some were charged, some were kicked off the team, some were even kicked out of their summer classes. JoePa even made the whole team clean up the stadium after each home game last year. Theyre not getting away with everything.

just because you commit a crime(especially a misdemeanor) doesnt mean you are going to jail automatically

Ya but atleast at PSU we graduate way more than half of our football players.

It's time for him to retire. His teams has as many criminals as the old Florida State and Miami teams. But at least they won national titles

Not true at all, Penn States whole campus doesnt even have as many criminals as those old FSU and Miami football teams.

And by the way didnt PSU beat Miami in the 1986 NC game when Miami had all thos criminals and thugs.

I can't think of another college with these kind of numbers, not even the Hurricanes!

Since 2002, PSU has had 27 players plead guilty to some form of charges(most being assault, harrassment, and underage drinking). Thats under four players a year. Are you saying no other school in the country is that close to these numers, YA RIGHT. On the college footabll page on SI.com, there is two teams on the front page with two players being arrested in a matter of days of each other. Kentucky and Arkansas. Please try and tell me things that are happening at PSU arent happening all over the country.

Just like JoePa said, they are 19, 20, 21 years old, but they arent aloud to make mistakes. They are getting crucified for doing something stupid because they are not mature enough. They are still young kids who make mistakes. Even the best kid in the world can be pressured into doing something by his peers(not saying thats whats happening at PSU), it happens all the time and everywhere.

Yes JoePa does deserve respect. Hes done so much for college football and yet you people still rip him apart. Hes been nothing but a class act since he started coaching. And for all you people saying hes losing his touch or cant relate to his players, in the last 3 years he has had a great year in 2005 and a couple of decent years after that, all with bowl wins. And this year seems like it could be another good year. JoePa might be getting old physically but hes still sharp mentally.

We have had one great year in the last 8. Im not saying we are a national powerhouse right now, but just give JoePa the respect he deserves.

Yes you should give PSU and JoePa the respect he deserves.
In JoePa's 42 year career as head coach at Penn State, his team has finished in the top 10 ranking of either the AP or Coaches Poll in 21 of those 42 years. So JoePa hasnt done great over the last 6-7, he had three losing seasons out of 4 years(first losing season since 88), he also has 3 bowl win

Excuse me, Penn State has the largest dues-paying alumni association in the world

in any of those 4 years.

Give JoePa and PSU the respect they deserve.

Why dont you people give JoePa the respect that he deserves. He knows more about football than all of us combined. He has done so much for college football and yet you people bash him like hes some old fool.

mikeinpittsburgh,

Are you serious, i dont even know where to start. Do you think PSU is just some second league football team. And if you have looked at our recruting. 2009 alone is looking good with already one 5-star recruit, two 4-star recruits, and plenty of 3-star recruits and we still have 8 months or however long to go. Maybe your talking about 2008, we finished like 40th nationally in recruiting but we got what we needed to get. Lets go back before that, in the years 2002-2006, two recruiting classes that finished 4th and 6th in the nation. Besides that, 28th, 12th, 16th, and one bad year of 50th, That sounds alright to me, not as bad as the bashing you gave us.

And whats wrong with our program, We have nothing wrong with our program. We have great coaches, great fans, great stadium, great tradition, biggest alumni association in the world, we have great everything.
JoePa has won 2 Nat Championships. And do you realize that he has had 4 undefeated sesons including wins in major bowl games but was not granted a National Championship.
Posted Tuesday May 27, 2008, About: Paterno voices support for playoff
JoePA is correct in his support of a playoff; however, what is curious is that good coaches, like Bob Stopps of Oklahoma, shy away from the same support.

DrRaederAnderson, how is JoePa not a good coach

I mean if you want to compare Bob Stoops and JoePa, Stoops is a good coach but he doesnt really compare to JoePa, JoePa is a living legend with the second most wins all time and the most bowl wins all time by a single coach. Stoops is a good coach, but you cant dare say JoePa is not a good coach, even at his old age now.
