he's linked to danish club, not a dutch team. Danish means it's in denmark... not to be knit-picky or to burst your bubble or anything.
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: MLS denies Donovan-Bayern loan
hahaha, every time i see Lalas on tv i fear for those around him. he always seems like he's gonna say or do something that will get espn fined by the FCC
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Ramos tops Milan's list
sergio will be fine at madrid, like chaco said he's getting dumped on, but if the press and higher-ups would notice, the entire real team is underperforming right now. letting him go would be the biggest mistake of the season. i know making robinho unhappy was a blunder, but letting one of the most talented backs in the world go, especially when your team is down and suffering the unholiest wrath of injuries, would be an even worse mistake. .. schuster might be inclined to let ramos make those runs up field, he actually does them pretty darn well, maybe it will create some scoring opportunities.
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Man City targeting Owen, Benayoun
really?? they want benayooooon? nobody in their right mind would want benayoun. wait, man city's not in their right mind.
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: MLS denies Donovan-Bayern loan
nor the players considering he called schelotto the crew captain when everyone and there brother knows its hejduk. rob stone had to correct him in front of everybody. then he proceeds to walk off stage without a word. what a hack. he BETTER let LD go, and no way have they not heard a word or even a peep from bayern about this. and this whole conference/playoff thing is a joke.
Posted Sunday November 23, 2008, About: Man City linked to Terry offer
yes, and man city is also going to make a move to sign phil scolari as manager too
Posted Sunday November 23, 2008, About: Kandji's Red Bulls future unclear
wow, this sucks i didnt know the silverbacks were folding in 09. hope atl gets an mls team to replace it
Posted Friday November 21, 2008, About: Barca leading MLS expansion race
i have to agree with kopper, Miami is just not a sports town, just look at the marlins (terrible team, terrible management, and terrible fans), panthers (a non-factor in hockey), heat (fallen off the map) and 'phins (I know they have a solid history, but no one really cares since Marino left and they haven't been good since, either). you can even look at the U. even before they moved to the cavernous dolphin's stadium, when's the last time the canes sold out the orange bowl every home game of the year? about 10 years ago when the canes made their title runs. I know MLS wants the Barca name, and I know Barca wants a city with a large latin base, but in all honesty there are better sports cities than Miami.

so, if big phil anschutz is so rich, couldn't he spend some of his money on better players? i know there is a salary cap, but he can spend more money on scouting and evaluating talent, can he not? that's a poor use of funds in my opinion.
Posted Thursday November 20, 2008, About: Barca may join Arsenal, Chelsea for Benzema
hey if he goes to barca, maybe henry will go back to arsenal where he belongs for a while ... before crossing the pond...but what about little bojan? when will he get his PT. they have stated ihe is part of their future. if he turns out to be the player they say he can become, there is no way they can afford to only play two of them along with messi, assuming eto'o keeps his form. plus, what if henry stays? he may not, but its still a possibility.

haha true, they may not be the best supporters, but they can help keep prices down for average fans
Posted Wednesday November 19, 2008, About: Arshavin 'dreams' of Bayern Munich
Billy G, all i suggest is that consistency over a period of more that 6 months should be required of anybody who wants to play for the giants of Europe. right, wrong, or indifferent, the guy was relatively unknown to me. he had a great euro, yes, but he's already 27, where has he been for the past 7 years? before last year, in the league he has averaged less than 6 goals a season with Zenit. last season it was 10. as i said earlier, he is a fine player, he just needs to keep this current top level of play up for a while more.... and honor his contract the he willingly signed and agreed to.
Posted Wednesday November 19, 2008, About: Is new Quakes stadium in trouble?
luxury boxes help the team sooo much though. teams get to keep all of the revenue they earn from luxury boxes, which is why they price them so astronomically high ... just look at any MLB, NFL, NBA, or NHL team. even with revenue sharing, 90+% of the revenue earned from Boxes are exempt, leaving huge sums of cash for the organization. Financially in the long run this will be a mistake.
Posted Wednesday November 19, 2008, About: Arshavin 'dreams' of Bayern Munich
I'll give the guy credit were it's due, he is good and he had a wonderful EURO 08, but one solid tourney shouldn't make him the apple of the eye for the biggest clubs in europe... if their front offices are worth lick, that is. $38 million is way too high a price. Plus, Bayern doesn't need another striker to sit there and be unhappy with lack of PT (no disrespect to Poldi, i love the guy, but they don't need to have one more). Madrid may look his way, but only because Calderon is a fool, they need a much younger talent to replace RvN for the year, and eventually for the ageless Raul should he ever decide to step down. Dudeman needs to suck it up and honor his contract ... and hope he gets along with his front office.
Posted Tuesday November 18, 2008, About: Spurs linked to Xavi swooop
spurs are ridiculous. Xavi wont leave barca, and if he ever did it would be a shame. plus, who in their right mind would want to go from a CL side, who is currently second to none in the WORLD, for a team that, should the season end tomorrow, would be relegated. this is absurd.
Posted Monday November 17, 2008, About: Frankowski unhappy with Fire
saturdays do not work for ABC or ESPN, because there is this thing called College Football. no chance in hell the higher ups at espn and abc would try to preempt a college gridiron game. sunday works for ABC because they do not have an NFL deal, and can use what ever they can to try and steal viewers from fox and cbs. besides, they wouldn't have scheduled it there if they really thought no one would watch
Posted Sunday November 16, 2008, About: Henry may play for MLS Miami team
see i thought he was a really big fan of living in NYC, and that the RBs would be his team. but i can see him going to Barcas new toy in Miami, should they get the bid,
Posted Sunday November 16, 2008, About: Robinho recruits Kaka
i don't think Kaka will leave Milan if they get back into the CL after this year, plus Milan is more likely to sell off some other superstar midfielder rather than Kaka, he's too much an integral part of that offense
Posted Thursday November 13, 2008, About: Tevez tops Real Madrid's list
Calderon needs to go, but in the meantime, he needs to STOP CHASING Man U players. As noted above by Kopper and The special one, this is insanity. If Real keeps this up they will be going after Rooney next. This is getting too out of hand.
Posted Wednesday November 12, 2008, About: Real Madrid gives coach ultimatum
I have to agree with you Madridista, that front office needs to go, yesterday. Schuster can do a little better job of keeping his team together, and getting that D to play as a unit, but by no means should his job be on the hot seat. he managed them to the la liga title just months ago.
Posted Tuesday November 11, 2008, About: Italy hero Del Piero to Red Bulls?
Del Piero and Angel would be a nasty tandem, add in Dane Richards' speed and you have one deadly attack...hopefully they can get out of giants stadium by then. But i think Del Piero has a few more years with Juve in him still.
