Posted Friday November 28, 2008, About: Crosby won't pull a LeBron
Im not so quick to give him credit for saying something he had to say. If he says anything else then all hell would break loose. If he takes another 8.7 per yr extension then he'll be talking.
Posted Thursday November 20, 2008, About: Flyers eyeing Bouwmeester?
Florida would never go for that because they know they will lose bouwmeester anyway and they have no chance to sign Gaborik so essentially they trade bouwmeester a draft pick and a young forward for skoula ... no way.

The Flyers would have to trade at least Kevin Marshall and Joffery Lupul plus a second rounder to land Bouwmeester. I don't see it happening, as much as I want it to, because the Flyers already acquired Carle so unless he really meesses up the Flyers won't want to make another addition so quickly. If Shanny gets signed give it a week or two and the Flyers will move a foward.
Posted Monday November 17, 2008, About: Columbus in market for power play help
The Flyers will take Nash. Haha i wish. The BJs sound just like every other team in the league: "needs a puck moving defenseman." Howson should have called TB about Carle he was a cheap addition.

When you lose the best goaltender in history it's hard to replace him. I love Roy he was always in position and always reliable. I wish Brodeur wouldn't break his records.

I think Howard and Hamels have proved they are worth the money over the past three seasons. Howard for sure He is an RBI and HR machine.

And the new Sundin is .... Shanahan as Indecision NHL continues.
Posted Monday November 03, 2008, About: Flyers looking for new goalie?
The Pens still have their two best defensive defensemen Orpik and Gill so FLeury has some help. But then again Fleury is definitely better than Biron no questions ask. The FLyers are without Parent who was supposed to clean up the middle. The FLyers have too many puck movers and not enough battlers. Letting Jason Smith go when they knew Hatcher was done was a mistake.

Tightening the noose is a touchy phrase to use regardless of the player's race. However, if he didn't mean it to be racist then it wasn't racist plain and simple. If you are looking for racism you will always find it somewhere.
Posted Wednesday October 29, 2008, About: Can Rangers afford to keep Dubinsky?
No way someone takes on Redden and his ridiculous contract, which is worse than Kimmo Timonen's and Redden doesn't produce as much as Timonen. Prucha should be traded asap.

I like Clement ... when he does the local FLyer Broadcasts, but he definitely isn't unbiased he's like Jon Kruk doing the World Series analysis.

Dubi is a great talent and he should definitely be resigned. If he is not the Rangers better get a good haul for him. They might need to move Drury to make some space for Dubi.

I meant to say the goaltending ISN"T as big a problem as the defense.
Posted Monday October 27, 2008, About: Flyers consider goalie trade
Ron Hextall and Pelle Lindbergh were both more than decent. The goaltending is as big a problem as the defense. Biron has started off slow is is beginning to pick his play up. Niity has been fine too. The problem is the defense's inability to clear the crease out and its shoddy transitional play. The trade to make, if any, would be for either a solid first or second pairing defender to hold the team over until Jones and Parent can get back and up to speed. A bigger defender who can clear the middle of the defensive zone out.

Myers has a right to whine about that call. The ump looked like he called him out first then asked the first base ump and changed his mind on what was clearly a swing.
Posted Friday October 24, 2008, About: Flyers coach on hot seat?
As much as people make fun of hatcher he served his purpose well last year and provided great leadership. He was the Flyers Hal Gill. He scared opposing players who didn't wanna get hit in front. Without him and Jason Smith patrolling the crease teams have too easy a times banging in the rebounds. John Stevens is a go with the flow guy. He doesnt seem to bring about much of a change in play at anytime. This means the Flyers can be streaky they'll win 5 or 6 and Stevens doesn't seem to reinforce why they did so well and help the team be consistent. When the Flyers are doing poorly he doesn't seem to be able to turn the team around. He is more or less a figure head and a media shield for the team. He takes the criticism when its due because he is the one who deserves it. When the team is doing well he doesn't seem to get too much praise because he doesn't deserve it.
Posted Sunday October 19, 2008, About: Pens putting Crosby, Malkin on same line
Staal is their best defensive forward and he might evolve into more of a scorer. The Pens just have so much money locked up in their top two centers its tough to find high quality wingers for cheap if the team hasn't gotten them via the draft. Satan, Sykora, and Fedotenko should just be used to bide time until the Pens can develop some good young wingers. Trading Staal would be a mistake because the Pens need the three great centers to keep matching up well against other deep teams in the playoffs and in their division. The Rangers have Drury, Gomez, and Dubinsky and the FLyers have Briere, Richards, and Carter. The Pens top three is obviously better than both those teams so why give up Staal and lose that advantage?
Posted Tuesday October 14, 2008, About: Why Bruins-Flyers trade went down
this deal went down because Paul wants a quick fix and doesnt want to trade Knuble and have to bring up Giroux or Nodl this soon. he's hoping Kukkonen can step up so he can send Sbisa to juniors. In my opinion this trade is just a space filler and won't help the Flyers lack of depth at defense. Philly has several 3rd pairing defenders already. This is just an attempt not to add much salary and have a rotation so the lower level defensemen can stay fresh and possibly play better. Theyre just trying to stay afloat until Parent and Jones come back.
Posted Tuesday September 16, 2008, About: Flyers tinkering with Briere line
This move doesn't work Glen Metropolit doesn't fit on as the 3rd line center. The top Line is the Briere Line and he will not be put on a line with Richards because it puts too much defensive responsibility on Richards and his offensive growth and production will suffer. Look for a new French COnnection to be born with Gagne and Giroux center by Briere. Carter will stick to the third line with Upshall and Knuble(unless he is dealt) because that line had great chemistry. Richards will stick with Hartnell and Lupul because that line worked very well. The third line will consist of Metropolit centering Downie and Cote. However Downie might become a healthy scrath in favor of Andreas Nodl. The Flyers have good young forward talent that meshed well together. The whole reason the team succeeded last year was because the team wasn't top heavy and had 3 lines producing at almost all times. This year the fourth line won't be as productive as last year when it had Umberger for part of the time. Also Briere is too good a play-maker to be shuffled to wing. The coaching staff would rather have Giroux learn from Gagne and Briere(two players he is very similar too) by playing with them.
Posted Tuesday September 09, 2008, About: Hossa one-and-done in Detroit?
now that ryaan miller won't be on the market maybe detroit will have enough space to try and keep both Zetterberg and Hossa.
Posted Friday September 05, 2008, About: Flyers expect Gagne to return
Gagne was given a good amount of time to heal after he was permanently removed from the lineup.Holmgren and the flyers have seen the damage multiple concussions can do to a player so Gags wouldn't be back if he wasn't undoubtedly healthy. How long he will last is a good question. Hossa is definitely a better addition than Gags. The Flyers could have the new french connection with Giroux briere and gagne, but if Gags goes out Giroux will be looked upon to replace his speed and skill. Giroux has been touted as the new Gagne and possibly his replacement if Gags has a permanent leave of abscence or an early retirement. Look for him to go on LTIR if he gets another concussion early in the year so Homer can bring in a good speedy sniper or a great passer, which ever is cheaper. The Flyers should improve overall in the scoring department regardless of Simon's return or not because Jeff Carter is definitely going to up his totals and so will Briere and possibly Richards.
