he's one tough little SOB.....took the hit, down for a little bit, then get back up and get after it....playin' a mans game and took the hit like a man....
Posted Thursday December 04, 2008, About: Angels shift focus from Sabathia
i was just going to mention david wells also....i swear he eats doughnuts in between pitches on the mound.....with a fresh cold one to wash it down....

CC has pitched 200+ innings consistently the past few years....doesn't that make it sound like he's more durable as opposed to more prone for breakdown? he was lights out for the brewers, even though pitching a lot in a short time frame. he man'd up. they asked if he wanted the ball, he didn't shy away. he'll hold up and he'll man up like the pitchers from back in the day....finish what ya start....
Posted Tuesday November 25, 2008, About: Angels shift focus to big Sabathia offer
exactly. if CC likes the brewers offer or the another NL team, wants to play in NL, even though its not as much as the yankees offer, what's to stop him??? the union can't force him to NOT sign the contract....union is only worried about what's best for them....jack up contracts and don't give a crap about what the player really wants.
Posted Monday November 24, 2008, About: Angels may affect Yankees' Sabathia deal
Which is a bunch of crap. Now, say for example, granted a long long shot, but its down to Brewers and Yankees, and CC wants the NL where he can hit and pitched very strongly down the stretch. Brewers are offering less, but if that's what he wants, that's what he should get, regardless of the what the union execs "think is best for him", but in all reality "its what's best for us".
Posted Friday October 17, 2008, About: MLBPA: Evidence teams froze out Bonds
i was thinking the same thing. Barry says "no I won't sign with you, I want to market myself" but then all of a sudden "I need your help". I would tell him to screw off, we have no reason to work for you since, in a way, you didn't work for us.....can't have it both ways Barry...now stay in retirement and fade into oblivion....
Posted Tuesday October 07, 2008, About: Will Brewers keep Sveum?
at least sveum is stressing the use of small ball and needing to fix the roster to do so....yost would have sat back, just waiting for everyone to hack their way out of a slump and hit home runs.....

"bunt???? are you a pitcher???? no???? then go and hack!!!" - yost
Posted Tuesday October 07, 2008, About: Teixeira good fit for Yankees?
then again, who wouldn't "look good in pinstripes...." as they always say....

let's see, we've heard ben sheets, prince fielder, cc sabathia, aj burnett, now mark texieria....it will never end....spend $200 million + and still no world series.....
Posted Tuesday October 07, 2008, About: Soriano blames Cubs makeup for flop
yes the astros lost those two...but what happened the rest of the season??? were they conspired against to go 6-6 the rest of the way???? had they even won the 2 against the cubs, they are still sitting at home, 2 games behind the brewers in the wild card....rendering that series meaningless, even if they sweep....
Posted Monday September 29, 2008, About: Big changes in San Diego?
34 stolen base attempts???? that's it??? wow, when your not scoring runs you need to somehow manufacture runs....
Posted Wednesday September 24, 2008, About: Brewers face major roster changes
the "whole" minor league system??? we still have one of the top minor league systems, even with laporta traded. scouts said our AA team had potentially 6 major league quality players on the roster. laporta was the only one traded. our mid level system is still loaded. i wouldn't rush so fast to put the cardinals back ahead of the brewers....

enjoy the lower half of the division for the next few years. the cubs and brewers will be ahead of you and if your not careful, the 'stros will pass you right up as well.
Posted Wednesday September 24, 2008, About: Yount, players want Brewers to keep Sveum
are you serious????? if that's your logic, then ryan howard should be sitting since his fielding is just as bad as fielder's. weeks hasn't hit for average, sometimes for power and has had shakey fielding. prince at least hits 35+ HR and drives in 100+ runs.

as someone above said, use some common sense before making such a dumb statement.

svuem is finally teaching fundamentals. i think i saw more sacrafice bunts in last nights game that in yost's whole managing career. svuem at least knows how to use small ball.

he also noticed bush struggling right away last night and had someone up in the bullpen immediately. yost would have waited for bush to give up 5+ runs before even warming up the bullpen. yost was a lost cause as a manager for this team. the timing may not have been the greatest, but he had to go regardless.
Posted Monday September 22, 2008, About: Brewers face major roster changes
the fielder/hardy for cain trade is a pipe dream for san francisco. there is no way they package that deal together, so keep dreaming.

yost had to be fired - his attitude of "we'll break out of the slump...not much we can do...i'll keep hitting weeks leadoff...blah blah blah" had to change. i'm glad they fired yost finally, although it was too late.

CC and Sheets will be gone, we'll take 4 compensatory picks in the first round and re-tool again with our scouting department. re-stock the minors again and have at it. just taking a page out of the twins playbook. if you don't have the money, you keep re-tooling the farm system, make key trades and keep at it. aside from the cc trade, that's what they've been doing the last few years, and it shows with one of the best farm systems in baseball.
Posted Tuesday September 16, 2008, About: How Yost's firing went down
yost was leading this team nowhere.....one collapse (last year), oh well get back after it. but now a second collapse, eerily similiar to last years. that's enough right there. why let him destroy the last two weeks of the season as well. let svuem run the team for the finally two weeks and hopefully get things kick started. maybe this will FINALLY be the end of rickie weeks leading off with his .230 average. and hopefully durham will be the started 2b the rest of the way through.

it was only a matter of time. finally, yost is toast.
Posted Tuesday September 02, 2008, About: Piniella hints at lineup changes
hey vegas baby....

brewers team fielding % - .984
cubs team fielding % - .983

might want to check the stats before posting that one genius. CC's arm falling off??? didn't Z just miss a start because of a "tired arm"????

braun will keep it up. he will be the next pujols as a hitter. .300+ each year with 40+ HR and 100+ RBI. might as well get used to it, he'll be around 7 more years.
Posted Friday August 29, 2008, About: Pujols rips Brewers reliever
in reference to the brewers pitching, if indeed sheets and cc walk, with gagne's ocntract off the books, that's 20+ million dollars right there, where we could pick up a sold #2/3 to compliment yovanni and manny. attanasio is not going to take one year and leave it at that, he will put up a contending team year after year...
Posted Friday August 29, 2008, About: Pujols rips Brewers reliever
Hey tenrings, they act with no class because they have yet to taste success on a yearly basis. True, my Cubs have thier history but I think the guys that take the field now truly respect the game, unlike the Brewers.

Give then a break, they still have to live in Milwaukee!

I still don't get how the brewers don't respect the game. Untucking the jerseys??? that's petty. watching home runs??? your telling me that ramirez and pujols don't watch them just as much??? V allegedly getting into with the cardinals??? you mean zambrano doesn't have a hot head at times???

give me a freakin' break.

a very one sided view of the situation. the blogger steared pujols to answers that make it look like the cardinals were completely right and the brewers completely wrong. not a very objective piece. even some of the responses to the blog from cardinal fans point out the same.

and the last time i checked, the brewers haven't given a damn about winning a world series for the last 30 years.
pikesteve22 | 08/28/08, 04:39 PM

moreso an ownership issue than anything. selig ran that freakin' franchise like crap. he got lucky in 82 and 92. thankfully he sold to attanasio who knows how to run the team effectively, therefore hopefully making the brewers annual contenders for the central. we'll be hanging around for quite a while i believe.

put it this way...cards hate brewers...brewers hate cards....braun and pujols will be going at it for years to come, to the rivalry will only get better and more bitter.....

and who said cards are better built for long run??? last time i checked, the brewers have much more young talent and a loaded minor league system...i'll take my chances with the brewers hanging around longer.
Posted Thursday August 28, 2008, About: Pujols rips Brewers reliever
tenrings...maybe you should watch the video again. v pumped his fist, did not motion anywhere towards the dugout. pujols got his panties in a bunch and started at V. V then went at it with pujols, who instigated.

put the shoe on the other foot...if pujols hits a grand slam to put the cards ahead, is he going to drop the bat the run to first. um, no. maybe after watching for 10 seconds, walking 20 feet to first and then MAYBE half **** jogging to first and the rest of the way home. V got out of a tight jam in a playoff atmosphere type game (cardinals should get used to it, since its not happening to them in october).

tell pujols to look in the mirror before telling other teams how to act professionally....

hmmm...where to start....

1 - Yovanni Gallardo - if not for his ACL tear, he'd be near the top of our rotation
2 - Manny Parra - what did you do against him last night?
3 - Free Agent/Ben Sheets - resign sheets plug him in 1 2 or 3
4 - Jeff Suppan - Good #4
5 - Dave Bush - been pretty effective 2nd half, good #5

Plus more in AAA with our loaded system. I think we'll be just fine. Just worry about your own rotation and that holding up.
