Incredible! The Birds are cleaning house. Seems like their theme must be "No Country for Old Men"

He was a pretty decent coordinator in Dallas. I hope he can work with what they have in Cincy.

I'm going to say that Tank Johnson will play a down before Corey Simon. He lost out on a good thing when he held out on the Eagles back when. He messed it up in IN too. Sad to see such talent go to waste. Let it be a cautionary tale to players who think they're something special and irreplacable.

Another chump who's fawning over all the Pats FA moves. The only one that might have potential for improvement is the Moss acquisition. Even then it has the potential to rip the team apart. As for Welker, Stallworth and Thomas, we're talking about a return man, injury problems, and a versatile but older LB who could also see health problems. Where's the true excitement in that? Also, SF made a big splash in FA, but to what end? Beyond Clements, most of the rest are role players, not super stars.

Bold prediction KC. The Vikes should improve if Peterson can stay healthy all year and take attention away from Jackson. I still think the Vikes are a few years away from taking the division though.

It's good to see that Kolb can handle the pressure situations that come up in Texas HS football and the competition in the USA Conference. But unless you've lived in Philadelphia and understand the love/hate culture, there's no way to be ready. Just ask anyone who's played or coached here.

Kolb is an insurance policy, plain and simple. After several years of needing a replacement, the Eagles want someone they are grooming for the future. Anything can happen in a given season. McNabb is at the top of his game, and can lead the Eagles to several Super Bowl victories if the conditions are right. But the opposite can happen too. It is better to have someone on the QB roster who is younger than 30 and can be a developmental pick.

Would anyone say that Kobe is a good #2 man? Be serious. Dirk can be the #1 leader on the team, but he's going to have to get his head out of the sand and take that 3 minutes he pumped out in game five and make it 40 minutes in every game. Mavs will recover and they will be back again next year.

Great article. Most "expert" draft grades are based upon what the expert thinks a team should have done during the draft. These "experts" formulate what a team "needs" a la the perennial "Eagles should draft a WR", and then have a fit when a team does not fit with their mock draft. Get real. The Eagles draft history under Reid and Heckert shows that they find better value in lower rounds and in undrafted free agents. First and even second rounders can be a crap shoot at best.

Good call on the dueling QB's history. I truly hope this spurs McNabb to be the best QB he has ever been. Here's hoping also that the offense stays balanced like they were with Garcia under center. McNabb's injuries can be partially attributed to such a heavy pass attack. Having said all that, picking Kolb does strike me as odd. Anyone else wonder what's really going on behind the closed doors at the Novacare Center?

Some of the Eagles' key veterans are aged and even long in the tooth. However, what's missing in this bleak picture that seems like an ad for Geritol or the AARP? Young players are starting at most key positions with the exception of those spots such as QB, FS, DE, and CB. You don't want rookies starting at those positions! The learning curve is a fast one in the NFL, and it is far better to groom and train a player so they can be ready when it's their time. The Eagles staff always leaves room for competition, regarless of experience or tenure on the team. When Justice is good enough he will replace Runyon or Thomas. When Moats is good enough he could replace Buckhalter or even Westbrook. Until then, the best player will always be on the field for the Eagles.

Leave it to a Trenton paper to skew and tweak the facts. Corey Simon was great while he was here. He's only gone because he wanted to play hardball for a richer contract. It's interesting to note that the author leaves out our O-line's anchor from Arkansas, as well as the up and coming Mike Patterson. It is also a cheap shot to add Bunkley into the mix. On a team as good as the Eagles, it would be difficult for any rookie to crack the starting lineup.

It would not be a big surprise if the Eagles chose Patrick should he fall to them in the 2nd or 3rd round. I would guess that they might take a look at him in the 3rd. Eagles do have the proclivity of choosing local talent (Westbrook, L. J. Smith, Bruce Perry, et. al.)

Without a doubt! Eagles always fill their practice squad and sometimes even starting spots with UDFA's. That's how we have our center, and also Joselio Hanson our dime back (DB). I am always amazed to see the diamonds in the rough that can be found after the draft.

This article is way off the mark. There is no way the Mavs went into game 1 thinking they were going to roll over Golden State. If anything they need to be more aggressive, confident and forget about past losses to the Warriors. This will be an interesting playoff round between the two teams, but barring a complete meltdown of the Mavs, I don't see Nellie being on the sidelines in round two except as a guest of Marc Cuban.
