No I was saying if he was a SEC coach at a program like TN. But TN has just hired Kiffin so the point doesn't matter I guess.
Posted Wednesday December 03, 2008, About: Reports: Weis to retain Notre Dame job
Did anyone really think ND was going to get rid of Weis? He can go 2-10 and people will say give him another year. I hate to say it but his best years was with the previous coach's players! All the reports say the class he has brought in are great but that doesn't mean you can just put players on the field with no coaching and they will win.

Will Weis win in 09? Who knows but the guy should be gone already.I would love to see him do good but I just don't think Weis is a good head coach. There are some people who are great at being a Vice President and some who are great at being a President. I think Weis falls in the VP role.

Just think if he was in the SEC like TN!

Not sure NY has enough money but if they could pull it off. WOW!
Posted Tuesday December 02, 2008, About: Giants can get out of Burress contract
Hmm so I work a newspaper route or at dunkin donuts. I think your post says it all. Just because your job doesn't or didn't offer you a bonus don't hate on the ones who did. I think what is going to happen is the Giants will let the process play out. They will not make a quick move and will do what is in their best interest.

PS. You must have missed my house when you where delivering the paper. Now I have to come to your other job, order a cup of coffee and get you to deliver my paper!
Posted Tuesday December 02, 2008, About: Giants can get out of Burress contract
Sorry but being on the hook against the cap is part of business. No one is making the NFL teams give the players the signing bonus. Making a player give back a signing bonus is crazy. Also the only thing guaranteed in the NFL is the signing bonus. If you sign a player for 100M over 10 years with 20M upfront and the player gets in trouble in year 2 the team is out of 32M (20M signing bonus and 8M for the first 2 years each) not 100M. If the teams don't want this risk then don't sign the player.
Posted Tuesday December 02, 2008, About: Giants can get out of Burress contract
That is correct and I have no problem with that. If a team gives a person a signing bonus or money upfront, why should he player have to repay that? Look at it this way. You get a new job and part of you taking the job you get a bonus or stock or a pay raise, etc. So if 2 years later you get in trouble with the law, your employer can't come back to you and say hey, the money I gave you 2 years ago, I want it back.

Come on people some of the things we write on here are over the top. Giving a person a bonus, etc is part of business. I hate to say it but us holding pro players at a higher standard because they make millions is crazy. If they screw up they will have to pay, just like us regular folks. But trying to take everything away from them is crazy. Just because I don't have the talent or skills to get a job paying me millions of dollars doesn't make me want to take their money.
Posted Tuesday December 02, 2008, About: Fulmer recruit thrilled with Kiffin
I'm pulling for Kiffin but man this hire was pretty quick. Lane got the NFL job with no head coaching experience. Now he gets the TN job with 2 bad years at Oakland. Hmm, why not interview more people? Was there no one else qualified for the job. This guy must be the best interviewer in the world. I wish I had his skills and his agent!
Posted Tuesday December 02, 2008, About: Giants can get out of Burress contract
No need for this as the NFL can get rid of a player if they get a felony. Remember Vick? Once a player get a felony and the NFL suspends them, the team doesn't have to pay them.
Posted Tuesday December 02, 2008, About: NFL may open Thanksgiving to more teams
Given that Seattle has been one of the best NFC teams over the last 5 years, I'm not sure how one can say Dallas gets to face a poor team on Thanksgiving.
Posted Tuesday December 02, 2008, About: United Football League eyeing Vick
Vick will be back in the NFL. He has paid his time for the crime. If he can still play which I think can, he will be back.
Posted Tuesday December 02, 2008, About: Giants can get out of Burress contract
This post is an example of why fans have no decision power in pro sports. Let the legal process play out before jumping to conclusions. As soon as a player gets in trouble all we see if everyone saying get rid of him, he's a bum, etc. After the legal process takes place, the Giants will do what they fell is in their best interest. If having Plax makes them a better team, they will keep him. If not, they will get rid of him.

This quote is spot on!
Posted Sunday November 30, 2008, About: Blowout could be end for Weis
Not quite sure why this should allow him to keep his job. Yes I'm sure if you give anyone enough time they will have a good year or two at some point. Really Weis wasn't the person they wanted. ND wanted Meyer who went to Florida. Is a change due, yes it it. Will ND make a change, who knows. But one thing is for sure, ND had a weak schedule this year and they really didn't make any major steps forward. I could be wrong but Weis looks like his calling was being a signal caller in the pros.
Posted Friday November 28, 2008, About: Marbury doesn't trust D'Antoni
Why can't you stand this guy? Have you had a talk with him? Have you talked to him on the phone? Do you know him? Or are you forming your opinion based on what you read in the paper?
Posted Friday November 28, 2008, About: Marbury doesn't trust D'Antoni
Reading through some of these comments make me laugh. You read stuff about not liking the guy, how bad he is, how much of a idiot he is. Some of you actually act like you know this guy personally. I bet 99.99% of what you are talking about is what we have seen in the papers, read in the blogs, and what talk radio people tell you. I mean you guys can't believe everything you read can you? Hmm after thinking a bit I believe some of you actually believe what people tell you to believe.

Bottom line is Marbury has a contract with the Knicks for 20+ Million and he should get his money. If the Knicks don't want to play him or only play him a game here or there that is fine. Either way they will have to pay him. Sounds like some of you wish you had that talent to demand that kind of money. I know I wish I did. But since I don't I'm not going to dislike the guy who does. I love it how a good portion of people on here now believe everything the Knicks say. When the Knicks was in court over the sexual case no one could stand the Knicks. Funny how things turn.....
Posted Friday November 28, 2008, About: Marbury doesn't trust D'Antoni
Hmm. The Knicks already have him in the last seat on the bench, and he is off the court. Remember he isn't playing. This is what this topic is about. Also what would you fine him for? Maybe they can fine him for showing up to practice or sitting on the bench? Not sure about this one. As for keeping him off the floor until 2010 this will not happen because he is in the last year of his contract. So in 2010 he can sign with another team.

This whole case sticks on both sides. Both the Knicks and Marbury are to blame but Marbury has a contract for 20+ Million and he has every right to collect it. The Knicks have the right to cut him a check for 20+ Million and tell him to say home. But they have to pay the man. Remember if a player sits out and demands more money we always complain how bad they are. Now we have a situation that is reverse. Marbury has a contract but the Knicks don't want him.

This is like a couple going through a divorce. No one is 100% correct or 100% wrong. Also the "thug" comment says more about you then people in the garden. It's time for you to log off the computer.
Posted Friday November 28, 2008, About: Marbury doesn't trust D'Antoni
How can you say this? Do you really know if D'Antoni is telling the truth? Do you really believe D'Antoni gave him the option of starting the rest of the year? So let me get this straight. A coach has said you are not going to play for me but then the coach says hey if you help me out on this game I will let you start the rest of the year.

Good point KingYaz.

This whole roids stuff is a joke. Based on what has happened in baseball the real crime is lying about taking roids. I mean Pettitte and Giambi said they took roids and people are OK with that. Heck they are talking about Pettitte being HOF worthy. Now Roger is sticking to his story about not taking roids and we hate him. Really this whole mess is a joke. I'm not losing any sleep on it.
