He's 29. That is ONE year less than 30. Your parents must have wasted thier money at a very poor private school.
And don't tell me that it is the fans that really pay the price, with $75 "cheap" seats and $8 beer. Trust me, the owners already know we are stupid enough to pay that. They aren't going to lower prices if the salaries are lower, they are only going to increase their profits.
If the whole thing really offends you as much as some of the comments here seem to indicate, there is only one solution: stop buying the product. Refuse to go to games. Don't buy the gear. Don't keep pumping your money into the system. If that happens prices will drop, salaries will drop, profits will drop, and Americans will be able to afford their national pastime again.
And guess what: it will still be fun. Go to a minor league game sometime, where the tickets cost $8, you can eat a hotdog for$2 and players take home $1,500 a month if they are lucky. It is still a lot of fun.
So stop whining about salaries and do something about it. We'll all be better off (well, except for the players and owners, but I doubt any of them will be missing too many meals any time soon.)
