Just had an interesting thought. Instead of tryign to figure out who to draft, perhps teh HEat adn Bulls should make a trade: Shawn Marion to the Bulls, and the #1 pick to the Heat. I'm the Bulls would have to throw in a contract or two (Larry Hughes, anyone?) to make it work.
Marion's game is based on athleticism, and he turned 30 earlier this month. He makes much more sense on a team that's got NBA level palyers at every positin already. The Heat, regardless of this draft, are not going to be a championship contender in the next year or two, which is probably at least half of Marion's remaining time as a useful contributor to a top team.
Or a three way trade: Marion to Toronto, Ford and a pick to Chicago, the #1 and $$$ to Miami. Or maybe Micheal Redd from Milwaulkee. OR... or... or... you figure the pieces out.
However it would work out. the Bulls get a significant upgrade at some position, and possibly more roster flexibility for future trades, and the Heat take BOTH Beasely and Rose.
I can see the Bulls using the same starting 5 every night, and then inserting Marion wherever it gives them the biggest advantage from 2 - 4. He'd still get 30+ minutes a night, and easily be the NBA's 6th man with his 14+ points and 11+ rebounds off the bench. Plus, the Bulls don't have a dominant star to take all the media attention and hurt Shawn's feelings.
