Walton is a solid player, I won't argue that. But, fact is he's been there and post-Shaq trade he alone hasn't proved to be a difference maker. I personally like his game, because he does the things that really aren't talked about unless you see him play. That being said, that 30$ million could've been easily packaged to a playmaker that can take the Lakers from another first round knockout to a potential contender. Guys like Chauncey, or even someone that would fit the mold better Gerald Wallace. I understand that neither could be signed simply from the cap clearance of not signing Walton; but getting rid of Walton and Kwame means either could be signed, and no one could tell me with a straight face that either of those guys wouldn't benefit more then Kwame or Walton. I know the game of basketball, I'm not the guy who's biggin up the resigning of a role player here. You are. Walton will never be the difference maker in a team, yes he fits the triangle system well but he didn't get you over the hump before and he won't.

Trust me, it's not just night time. I've heard of 3 on duty(in uniform) police officers who were robbed and assaulted in the past 5 months or so. So what? House values have nearly doubled in the two years I've owned my home here. 200K in profit, I'm dumb enjoy to laugh all the way to the bank buddy.

I appreciate your love of the game, your admiration of Garnett and the fact that you've had my back during some of these discussions. But friend to friend, I'd like to give you a word of advice. You do not have to resort to name calling and personal attacks in your posts. It only makes you look bad, even when you're right. It makes visiting this site less enjoyable for everyone.

I have been called all kinds of names here, but I try to rise above that and refute the arguments instead of attacking the person. Sometimes that can be VERY difficult. Even very smart people can say stupid things. There are a lot of haters posting flame bait. You know the game, and don't stoop to their level.

On Shaq, love how you state the obvious...of course his younger days are behind him, but not necessarily his best if he had stayed in shape. in fact, michael jordan's best days were at more towards the end of his career (not washington). Shaq has always been lazy and has shortened his abilities in his later career. He never developed much more than his power game as opposed to kobe who would come back with new moves or a sweeter jump shot because he worked hard in the off season. Is shaq had diversified himself, he could be doing finesse moves instead of getting in foul trouble for knocking people over. he's just lazy. hurt team chemistry by trying to work himself in shape and injuring himself for trying to do so. Team can never have a full season's chemistry. he needs to listen, lose about 15-20 lbs pounds and he'll feel more energetic and athletic again ( i was a personal trainer...sometimes i gain weight and know how feeling heavy affects your athleticism and energy level). Though i don't agree, Love ya passion for the game.

given the fact that mo pete would be playing with a great defensive group around him he would have to expel less energy defensively and would produce more offensively...kenyon martins post game would also improve mo petes scoring as well as the fact that he'll be playing with chris paul in an uptempo system...which is kind of arguable because ford is also very good but i think that paul better...

I have to say that I liked us drafting J Russ. Guys like him only come around once a decade or so. I wouldn't mind if we drafted adrian peterson but only if we traded down and got an extra pick or something.

Ok, I just got your comment. Do you honestly think that Fisher makes the Lakers a contendet. I think its a good signing, but not enough. In the West, they cant contend. The Lakers are too far away from having a good enough team. Drafting a bunch of projects, that need 3-4years to develop, and not pulling the trigger on any possible trades. I am very aware of Kobe and Fish's relationship, as I have been a laker fan for years. Dont come at me with your facts, which by the way you need a lot of gramatical help. The Lakers will once again be lucky to make the playoffs, and Kobe will soon be wearin another uniform, once he opts out.

Ok, I admit, I made a typo, that say nothing about my grammar, which you clearly have an issue with. As well as with your knowledge of basketball. Fisher is a solid role player who provides leadership, and a good outside shot. The Lakers need another guy that can take the pressure off Kobe, a star, like when they had Shaq. Until they get that, they will be stuck in mediocrity, being lucky to make the playoffs, and then losing in the first round to the actual good teams in the west.

I'm kind of reeling from the loss of KG and have taken out my coveted KG bobblehead for a 30 day period of mourning. It's always darkest before the dawn.

It has been hard to watch the Wolves the past couple of years. Like watching one fireman risk his life in a burning building while the others played cards.Now I'm bracing myself for a 20 win effort and return to the days of Pooh. I haven't seen much of any of the new guys, but I'm excited about Big Al. I hope we can resign him to a reasonable contract or this deal is a bust. Green? I'm less impressed by thunderous dunks in a 20 point loss than I used to be. Telfair is a goner. The real key to the deal is that we don't lose our first rounder next year. Should be a high pick 'cause the Wolves are gonna blow. Looking forward to 2010 :>)

You're right, man. There is a lot to look forward to. Craig Smith is a monster in the low post and he should see some more PT. With him and Al the wolves got more aggressive in the paint. Hard to fault KG but yeah, he'd often settle for fall aways when the opportunity was there to go to the hole. It's hard to win that way when nobody else on the floor can rebound. Brewer is a nice addition. We have a lot of tweeners so I think we'll matchup poorly with big teams like Houston Portland, & SA. We'll see....I'm thinking Portland improved more than the Wolves this off-season, and since we were about even with them last year we'll finish below them and ahead of Seattle.

Thanks for the info on the vet minimum. Looked it up a little later after I posted that and realized I was off by a little (at least by their standards).

I agree about needing a PG but even another sure fire trigger wouldn't hurt. Plus, Houston's bring great character and a proven vet presence to the locker room. Still Bibby would have made this year a good one, even with my Buckeyes (football and basketball) and Cavaliers coming up short in Championship games.
