As college football's foggy landscape clears up it's time to take this blog into mid-season mode. Since the 2007 Las Vegas Bowl, it became obvious BYU would be a formidable threat to nab a BCS bid, but I never imagined they'd win so effortlessly. Last weekend's 59 point shutout of UCLA was an eye opener. By halftime BYU had already leapt out to a 42 point lead, Max Hall had thrown for 6 touchdowns and his draft stock had risen like the price of gas in California. Why waste time with small talk when we can get straight to the issue at hand... Week 3: (16-3) Ohio State at Southern Cal This weekend is headlined by the Buckeyes and Trojans epic duel for ...NFL supremacy. That's not a misprint. The two teams in this contest are so talented that the winner should get more than a helmet sticker from Mark May. I'd rather see the San Francisco 49ers get relegated to the Pac-10, and have the Trojans finish out the NFC West schedule if they win.
