This is the most interesting conference in the league..., the wild wild west has 10 playoff type teams and only 8 can get in..., going to be a long season out west.#1 - Detroit Red Wings - Defending champions, the best run franchise with arguably the best defense in the entire league. And now they signed Hossa for one season..., going to be interesting how he meshes with Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Defensively, they're getting long in the tooth but with Lidstrom, Chelios, Rafalski and Stuart manning the blue line, it only makes Osgood and Conklin's jobs easier.#2 - Dallas Stars - Perhaps…

With just over a week or two until NHL training camps start, been thinking about the playoffs and who will make them based on this past off season.#1 - Pittsburgh Penguins - no question this is the number one team heading into the season. With Malkin and Crosby scoring, Fleury being the goalie they drafted and a terrific defense, Pittsburgh will be seeded #1. Sure they lost half their roster but, I think Satan and Fedotenko can make up for the losses of Roberts, Recchi and the others.#2 - Washington Capitals - Coming off a great year and getting kicked out of the playoffs in the first can hurt…

Still Some Names Out There..., why?

With Sakic resigning for a year in Colorado..., thank you Joe!, there are still a few interesting names out there and, I am trying to figure out why? I understand the whole 'Sundin' situation and quite frankly, as a Leafs fan, this is ridiculous! He's had two months..., make up your mind already! I just don't see why guys like Selanne, Shanahan and for the most part, Murray and Parrish, are still out there, waiting for something to happen and then make a decision.
