I got into BB in the mid 80's when it was still all Lakers and Celtics. So I was originally a Lakers fan because I hated the Celtics. I am not much of a football fan, and definitely don't care for baseball. I learnt to appreciate many NBA teams whether I like them or not, but once the Blazers became good in the 90's, I had to be a homer and converted to being a Blazers fans. There have been Blazer heart aches when we lost to Detroit and Chicago, and then couldn't get over the hump against San Antonio (that damn Sean Elliot shot!), and especially against LA (Cliff Robinson's dropped pass that could have been a lay up, and then that infamous 4th quarter collapse against Shag and Kobe). Then, there was that whole Jail Blazer era of bad characters (Sheed, Bonzi, JR Rider, Quintel Woods, etc...). But with the recent waiving of Darius Miles, the Jail Blazer era is officially over! Portland finished 2008 missing the playoffs, but not too many expected them to be at 0.500 either. With Roy, Aldridge, and Oden, along with a tight knit group of young talented guys, the future is extremely bright! I am totally stoked that the Blazers are now in position to regain their relevance in the league again. Go Blazers!!!
